There are numerous Costa Rica Beaches on the over 1500 kilometers (1000 miles) of coastline in that country. Here is an overview of some of the great Costa Rica Beaches to be enjoyed.

Caribbean Coast

Limon

Puerto Limon is the main tourist center in the central Caribbean area, with the country's largest seaport for import and export, as well as beautiful beaches and interesting nightlife with an Afro-Caribbean flair. In the vicinity are beautiful Caribbean beaches with the only reef in Costa Rica.

Cahuita

Cahuita is a beach that is situated nearby to Limon. A national park is situated here which protects the coral reef and marine life. Nice sandy beaches in the area.

Puerto Viejo

Puerto Viejo is further south further south from Cahuita and makes a lovely place to visit. There are a number of exclusive hotels and beaches along this area.

Tortuguero

This region is North of Limon. The whole region is comprised of natural canals that lie behind a thin strip of land and the sea. There are extraordinary jungle lodges and canal tours for you to enjoy. Garfish, Caimans, and Manatees are often seen here. You can only get to Tortuguero by airplane or boat. This is also a major turtle nesting region.

Barra del Colorado

Like Tortuguero you this is another of the Costa Rica beaches that must be reached by boat or plane.This is the place to go if you love fishing. Tarpon is the prevailing adversary here, but there are many other species as well. There are luxurious fishing lodges here.

North Pacific

Guanacaste

The Guanacaste coastline is known as the Golden Coast. There are many gorgeous Costa Rica beaches, some with full-blown resorts and others with few people on them. This is a very popular destination for tourists, especially now since the opening of the Liberia International Airport. Playa Tamarindo and Playe Grande are among some of the more poplar beaches in the area.

Central Pacific

Montezuma (Nicoya Peninsula)

Montezuma is on the inner rim of the Gulf of Nicoya, crossing by ferry from Puntarenas. It is a popular destination for the youthful foreign crowd. There are small hotels here but not all have telephones. The Cabo Blanco National Park is within reach.

Naranjo to Cabo Blanco (Nicoya Peninsula)

There are many lovely hotels along this area and plentiful fascinating places to visit. Situated in the Inner rim of Golfo de Nicoya. Considered difficult to get too by some but it's not really the case.

Puntarenas

This is a good point to start expeditions into Guanacaste and down the Pacific coast. From here you can take ferries across the Gulf of Nicoya to the Nicoya Peninsula. This is the main city on the Pacific coast, with a boardwalk, plentiful hotels and restaurants. It is located on a small peninsula with the gulf on one side and an sluice on the other side. where there are numerousness marinas and numerous commercial fishing operations. This use to be the primary seaport of the Pacific coast.

Jaco

Jaco beach is about an one hour drive south of Puntarenas. Many Costa Rica beaches are great for surfing and Jaco is a excellent center for surfers. There is nice beach break in town and extraordinary great surf spots in the vicinity like Hermosa, Escondido, and further away are the long rides of Bocca Barranca. There are many hotels, and plenty of tours to take. San Jose is about a two hour drive away.

Manuel Antonio

Manual Antonio, although the most small of the national parks, is one of the most popular ones. Nice white sand beaches, rocky headlands, and a tropical forest for the backdrop. There are lovely accommodations along this Costa Rica beach.

Quepos

Adjacent Manuel Antonio is the town of Quepos, the sport-fishing hub of the region. Marlin and Sailfish are the big catch.

South Pacific

Osa Peninsula

A very natural region which contains the country's largest national park, Corcovado. This is the southernmost peninsula on the Pacific.

Corcovado

Stupendous rain forest tours, sea kayaking and scuba diving are common in Corcovado. Isla del Caño is close, with its Indian burial grounds and awesome diving. Whale sightings are common among these Costa Rica beaches.

Golfito

There are cloistered hotels and lodges sequestered among the rain forest here. Golfito is the prevailing town and is the harbor in this region.

I want to import a pet ferret into Saint Lucia. I moved there a while back, and I've searched every pet store on the island for one, but to no avail. How do I import one to Saint Lucia? A friend of mine is willing to send one down for me, but how do I import it?

What's the best island in the Caribbean to visit?

My husband and another couple really want to take a vacation to the Caribbean but have no clue which island to visit. Neither of us has kids. We would really like to avoid areas with high crime rates. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Caribbean Summer Breeze 2011 - New Vocal Trance

Visiting Kilauea Volcano is one of the most scintillating and thrilling experience which remains in the memory for a long long to come. This very active volcano is located 30 miles southwest of Hilo and the opportunity of witnessing the primal process of creation and destruction make this place a major tourist attraction.

The volcano is part of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and is considered a very sacred place by the native Hawaiians and is considered to be the abode of Goddess Pele.

The park was founded in 1916 and encompasses 333,000 acres from the summit to the sea. It is a live proof of hundreds and thousands of years of volcanic activity, migration and evolution; processes that have converted a bare land from the sea into a haven for various complex and unique ecosystems as well as distinct Ancient Hawaiian culture.

In the park, Kilauea is the most active and Mauna Loa the most massive lava erupting beauties.

Climatic Condition & Weather System:

Given the fact the park is home to lava erupting mountains, it is very easy to presume that the weather at such a place must be surely very hot and sultry. But the most wonderful and unique feature of this place is that even though the island weather is unpredictable yet the weather conditions at the summit are varying. The local weather at Kilauea's summit which is 4000 feet in altitude varies daily. It may sometimes be rainy and chilly and the temperature also varies according to the elevation. The summit remains 12-15 degrees cooler than the sea level. The coastal plain at the end of Chain of Craters Road where the lava meets the sea is often hot, dry and windy with the possibility of passing showers.

Park Attractions:

The main attractions in the park are the eruptive sites that include the main caldera of Kilauea and a more active but remote vent known as the Puu Oo. The entry to the park is from the Hawaii Belt Road. The Chain of Craters is self-explanatory and leads past several craters from historic eruptions to the coast. It used to continue towards another entry point near the town of Kalapana but now it is covered by a lava flow.

Kilauea Volcano:

This volcano is sometimes also called "The World's Only Drive-in Volcano." On an average, 250,000-650,000 cubic yards of lava per day is produced here which is enough to resurface the 20-mile long, 2-lane road daily. The most beautiful aspect of this volcano is the meeting of the lava with the sea. One can only imagine this wondrous scene.

Outbound Activities in the National Park:

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park offers endless opportunities for great adventures in the Park. Over half of the park is designated wilderness and provides unusual hiking and camping opportunities. One can find 150 miles of hiking trails through volcanic craters, scalded deserts, and rain forests. Apart from this, the national park also features a museum, petroglyphs, a walk-in lava tube and most importantly two very much live fire erupting volcanoes; Maunaloa, which last erupted in 1984 and Kilauea which has been erupting since January 3rd, 1983.

International Recognition:

The park is rich in bio-diversity and the very uniqueness of this diversity has earned the park the proud position of the World Biosphere site; named as such by the UNESCO in 1980 and then in 1987 it was recognized as a World Heritage Site.

If you're planning a vacation in Barbados you may as well go all out and plan a luxury Barbados vacation. After all you're going to the tropics, so why not get the whole experience and take the Caribbean vacation of your dreams.

The magnificent twin ships from Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, the Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, are about as similar as two ships can be! Same length, same breadth, same tonnage, amazing public spaces including seven distinct neighborhoods, heavenly staterooms and soothing spas. Yet there are certain areas in which these twins show their individuality, namely in some new shopping and dining venues.

One of the outstanding changes is the addition of a Brazilian-style steakhouse called Samba Grill on the Allure of the Seas. By day the area is a cafe in the adult only solarium. By night, the Solarium is transformed into a true churrascari with both indoor and outdoor seating, authentic Brazilian meats and seafood offerings carved table side, as well as lively music and specialty drinks. There is also a buffet with soups, appetizers and salad. The charge is $25 pp to eat at Samba Grill, and this does not include any beverages or alcoholic drinks.

Replacing the Seafood Shack from the Oasis, the Allure offers Rita's Cantina, a vibrant new Mexican restaurant in the Boardwalk neighborhood. The offerings include ceviche, chips with salsa and guacamole, as well as fajitas, tacos and flautas, a veritable fiesta on the Allure of the Seas. Let's not forget the margaritas. There's a selection of more than 15 different flavors to choose from, of course these have to be purchased separately. The charge to dine is $7.95 per person, and you can order as much as you'd like. Rita's also offers evenings of Latin delights with live guitar music, dancing and delightful libations. At least once per 7 day cruise, Rita's will have a Fiesta package available. For $20 pp you get 3 margaritas, tastings of various foods, party gifts and live entertainment.

Not to be outdone by the south of the border crowd, the Boardwalk area will also sport a new snack bar called the Boardwalk Dog House. It's pretty obvious what this venue will have to offer, but you get more than a variety of hot dogs including the ever popular Coney Island dog. Also available are brats, sausages and lots of toppings. This Dog House will occupy the space held by the Donut Shop on the Oasis of the Sea, but fear not, the Donut Shop has not been displaced, just relocated next to the Ice Cream Parlor right across the way.

Also unique to the Allure of the Seas are several venues that are a first on any cruise ship. Enjoy Starbucks at sea open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, shop at the new Guess store selling accessories including watches, belts and purses or shop for paintings and sculptures at the Romeo Britto store.

The Oasis of the Seas offers their rendition of the Broadway play, Hairspray. The Allure of the Seas cast performs the musical Chicago. The ice shows are different, with the Allure using the cast of the film How to Train Your Dragon. Comedy club, jazz and piano bars, a sports bar and various lounges can be found on both ships.

The Allure of the Seas was also the first RCI ship to feature a 3D movie screen at sea. The picture quality and sound are excellent. Various movies are shown during a 7 day cruise. Sorry folks, no popcorn but you can go grab a slice of pizza or cookies on Deck 5 before heading over to the movie. For the best view, enter through deck 4.

Last but not least, the Allure of the Seas was the first ship to feature characters from various DreamWorks movies including Shrek, KungFu Panda and Madagascar. Characters participate in a sail away party, parades and are available for pictures and a character breakfast as well. Dreamworks characters will also be featured on the Oasis of the Seas beginning in April 2011.

So much to do, so little time! You'll never find so many outstanding dining, snacking, noshing, nibbling, grazing and feasting experiences as you will on the Allure of the Seas, unless you're sailing with her twin, the Oasis of the Seas.

Where should I go on my honeymoon?

I will be leaving on Sept. 14 or 15 from Louisville, KY. I want to take a two week, international vacation for less than $5,000 including air, accommodations and most of the rest. I don't want to go to the Caribbean or Mexico--spending 2 weeks on the beach sounds far too boring. Western Europe is out as well, I've traveled most of Western Europe before and my fiance wants to go somewhere that is new to both of us. I want adventure travel, not deluxe travel. Anything is an option--Peru, Thailand, Morocco, Croatia, etc. Where should I go? Any links to particular trip options or vacation packages will be greatly appreciated.

South Africa is amazing!!!! Especially along the Cape (Western Cape/ Garden Route)! Not only is it gorgeous, but there is so much too do! Especially if you're into adventure! The highest bungy jump is there, cage diving with sharks, etc. Not sure of packages from the US, but it should be cheap, as the South African Rand is not very strong!!! Good luck!!!!! Enjoy!

Island/In state vacation??? Plz help........?

In March my friend and I have some vacation time and wanted to go somewhere different from Miami(nothing against it but we've been going at least once every yr). We would like to go to the US Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico but everything seems really expensive(I believe we've waited too late). We would ideally like to go somewhere warm/tropical, nice party scene and a place where they have reggae clubs and Caribbean/African style food(which we love). Any suggestions will be nice???? Oh also..if we DO decide to go to Miami are there any places like above(due to peoples preference I have yet to find any). THANKS IN ADVANCE.

when do you plan on going?? ive vacationed to south carolina a few times and i seriously had the best time out of all the vacations ive taken. if you go to charleston they have a TON of things to do esp if the weathers nice like a bunch of huge and i mean HUGE houses that have actually been in a lot of movies and downtown is really awesome and you can take carriage rides and they give you tours. Then if you drive about 20 minutes you can go to folly beach which has a lot of bars and cool surf shops and things and its right on the ocean and they have a really nice pier. theres also a place called isle of palms around there that has lots of big old really odd colored houses plus the ocean and many shops. food wise im not sure what kind of caribbean/african food they have we would just go to the places that were on the ocean because the views it was so relaxing but i would think since it is oceanfront they would have various food.

its A LOT of fun you just have to go at a peak time like spring break or summer months because its warm and lot of people out and the bars are super fun at folly beach when its summertime. we went to myrtle beach last xmas and it was def great but it was their off season and a lot of things were closed and we couldnt reallly walk on the ocean because it was cold so def go during warm weather!

also im 23 so i did want a vacation where we could party and stuff and you def can there and i thought it was great everything was right on the ocean because you could walk right down there from the bar and theres actually a holiday inn right in the center of folly beach and right on the ocean and next to the pier so thatd be a perfect place to stay. i just think florida/mexico is so typical for vacations and spring break i like to mix it up. a friend of mine moved to virgin islands too and thats a great choice as well

What is the island of SABA like in the caribbean?

Is it a great place to live? Talk about crime, night life, politics, the people and the language.

It's a small island, with a very small population and not very much more really. Saba is surounded by very beautiful coral reefs, and prestine, untouched nature. It's a great place to relax and explore.
