Vacationing at one of Jamaica villas can be quite a fun and exciting adventure, the country happens to be one of many beautiful islands in the Caribbean. Jamaica is the perfect getaway spot, known for the friendly locals, mouthwatering cuisine, great sites to see and white sanded beaches.

A luxury villa is a beautiful alternative to the traditional and ordinary hotel. These stay overs are usually lovely on the inside as well as the outside. Fully furnished with gorgeous furniture and up to date television set and much more, some may even include a pool, tennis court, wireless internet service and gym. The positives to choosing a villa over a hotel is the privacy that may be lacking from crowded hotels and the personal home type feel you will receive.

The island is overflowing with over 300 of these luxury vacation rentals, you can find them in areas like Discovery Bay, South Coast, Port Antonio just to name a few. They are either nestled between swaying trees on impressively well maintained landscape sites or on a beautiful flawless beach.

Villas can range in sizes from 1 bedroom and bath to 9 or more bedrooms and baths. The style of such a place also varies from very modern, carefree, family friendly or classic and luxurious. The price to rent one of the island stay overs can be cheaper that other options and it depends on the size and the location, ranges start from 350 or lower per night to 5000 and higher per night. Some may offer full staff which can include housekeepers, chefs, gardeners and security guards.

Taking advantage of all that Jamaica has to offer can be entertaining and enjoyable, whether the purpose is business or pleasure, honeymooning, a break with friends or a family fun trip, Jamaica has something for everyone. Snorkeling, sailing, Para sailing or checking out the night life and visiting the handmade craft stores are just a few things one can do. And staying at the right place can make any type of vacation much more special.

The island goes by the motto Out of many, one people, and that plays into the way locals treat the tourists that visit. The villas of Jamaica have the reputation of having a warm, friendly, comforting and inviting feel. Because the staff will only dealing with one party opposed to more they usually go above and beyond to make sure their guests are happy.

Finding a Caribbean villa to rent does not have to be a stressful experience, it can be as easy as a click of the mouse. It is recommended that the individual seeking to stay at one of these places research before committing. Reading reviews from critics and past visitors is extremely helpful in making the right decision for a vacation, especially if it is the persons first time staying there.

Relaxing away carefree days at a Jamaican villa can be heaven indeed; individuals will enjoy the personal attention, the whooshing of the sea water and the beautiful dancing trees.

Need help selecting honeymoon spot!?

Hey,

Im planning my honeymoon (fiance wants to be surprised!) And im having trouble finding a good spot!

Pretty much the number one thing that we want is privacy! A couples only all inclusive resort in the Caribbean somewhere would be ideal. Price range is around 4-6k and were going in July of 2011!
Were not interested in water sports except for snorkeling (if that's even considered a water sport?). It would be awesome if the facility had its own Jacuzzi or even private plunge pool.. but I know those are rather pricey! There is just so much to choose from.. and im feeling a bit overwhelmed! Input, whether its general advise or specific resorts to look into would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks alot!

Are you an alumni of Ross University Medical School in the Caribbean? Was it hard to get a residency in US?

Have heard the good and bad to going to this school because students have a rough time finding good Internships in the US. Yes this school is cheaper than med school in the US but is it really worth it? What other experiences or pointers would you have for me?

Actually, Ross is considered one of the better Caribbean medical schools and graduates have obtained residencies in every specialty in every residency program in the US.

You can talk with current Ross students at ValueMD.com

There are many islands in the Caribbean, but What do you think of Barbados?

Would like to know more about Barbados
food, sports, language, weather, places,
Cricket and anything you think of.
How many hours time difference between UK and Barbados.
Any Do's and Dont's....if Some one's mine is visiting there.

Well I actually live in Barbados, but the above user seems to have covered a lot!
I would suggest you trying a watersport. We have a great variety. The popular ones are:
~Surfing
~Windsurfing
~Parasailing
~Sailing
~Snorkeling/Scuba diving

Food-- We have a really wide selection, even Polynesian (on the south coast!). I would suggest trying the South Coast (Christ Church, some of St Michael). There are English Pubs, Mexican Cafes and also a sushi bar.
Champers Restaurant is highly recommended.

Sports-- Cricket and football are really popular.

Language-- English (with some Barbadian "Bajan" dialect)
Sometimes we Bajans speak super fast. You can go on Wikipedia and search dialect and phrases.

Weather - Mostly sunny! The hurricane season is from June to November. Some rainy parts are in April, and mid-October to November.
Make sure you wear sunblock! :)

Places-- Definitely Accra Beach! it's one of the most popular beaches on the island. Also Harrison Cave, Folkstone Beach.
I highly recommend a trip to George Washington House. It's really great, and very informative. It's really special because it was the only place that George Washington visited out of the US. (We feel pretty chuffed about this.)

It's about 5 hours difference from UK Time.

DO:
Pack sunblock

DON'T:
leave your stuff unattended-- It might get stolen!

Hope this helps!

Do your children call you, or do they use Facebook?

None of our children (now in their 30s-40s) call us very often. They never tell us what the grandkids are up to unless we ask very specific questions. I felt very hurt and cut out of their lives, until a good friend told me her kids were they same. They went on a vacation to the Caribbean and posted the fact on Facebook, but never told her directly.
Don't you think that's rude and insulting? it shows no respect for their parents.

If you really must know, I don't have any children.
