Tobago apartments are a great choice for families or couples who enjoy the option of self-catering. There are lovely Tobago apartment hotels that are owned and managed by local families. The services in these hotels tend to be more personalized and by the end of your visit you begin to feel like you are part of the family.

Tobago offers visitors a return to traditional family and social values, while you are reminded that friendly service can accompany excellent cuisine at an affordable price. Visitors can feel welcome and interact with locals on the beach, in the shopping areas or while exploring the island.

There are still deserted beaches, beautiful coral reefs where you can snorkel or scuba dive, rainforests with great bird-watching opportunities and white sand beaches where you can relax and watch a glorious sun-set.

If you're looking for a holiday destination where you will be able relax, kick back and contemplate the finer points of life in style and in sunshine, why not choose Tobago. Take the opportunity to escape the normal hustle and bustle of everyday life for a few weeks on a Caribbean island where life slows to a pace that you can really enjoy nature, like a sun-set that you will not soon forget. Then have dinner outdoors and watch the moon come over the hills and cast a shimmering glow on the calm waters of the Caribbean Sea.

In Tobago the local people are friendly and welcoming towards overseas visitors because their island still depends primarily on tourism but they have also been able to remain unspoiled. They are proud of their island and there is a distinct difference between them and their sister islanders in Trinidad, where the pace is hectic. The people are friendlier and they seem to have found a balance between work and family life that keeps the family unit together.

Experience A Family Friendly Self-catering Tobago Apartment

There are a few medium-sized hotel resorts but the majority of Tobago hotels are small apartment hotels built along the sea-shore or on sloping hill sides, which offer beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea. Many Tobago Apartment Hotels are located on tropical hill-side property overlooking the scenic Store Bay Beach on the west coast of Tobago. This is a very central part of the west coast but the tropical garden environment makes you feel that you are away from the hustle.

Despite the pace of life being incredibly laid back, there are many adventures to be had. On your Tobago vacation you can plan various Tours to enjoy a host of activities that appeal to everyone. You can stroll on beautiful white sand Tobago beaches, enjoy great snorkelling and Scuba Diving, play a round of golf on two World Class Golf Courses, hike in the Tobago Rain Forest or spend a day deep-sea Fishing.

Tobago is still being very careful about the type of developments that are allowed so that the environment is not damaged by large-scale real estate projects. There are no high-rise hotels spoiling the skyline and I hope that this policy is maintained.

If you want to experience the ultimate tropical escape you can book a Tobago apartment where you and your family can enjoy the convenience of a beach resort with the option of self-catering. See below for my Tobago Apartment recommendation.

Looking for alternative luxury holiday destination?

Currently trying to book 10 days away in a 5 Star Hotel for me and my partner, we were considering one of the Caribbean islands but seems a lot of money to pay for 10 days away. Anyone know any other places that offer the same as the Caribbean but without the heavily inflated prices.

Thanks

Try Turkey or Egypt - all inclusive holidays are good value and you get excellent facilities and good weather.

The Buccament Bay, a luxurious beach resort in St. Vincent in the Caribbean Islands is arguably one of the best luxury resorts in the world. The Buccament Bay boasts of all the exotic luxuries in the world an individual can covet. No doubt then that the place has been the cynosure of eyes for a long time. The Buccament Bay has another great advantage to its credit.

The properties in Buccament area are being utilized as a tool for financial investment and as an instrument that can easily ensure very good returns. In other words, you can either buy a property here or participate in the property development by investing. Either kind of participation can enable you to earn high returns on your investment.

About the construction: The phase I of Buccament Bay is set to open on the July 1st, 2010 and the official pre launch event is scheduled to be held at Wembley on 24th and 25th April.

About the Buccament Bay: The place, located in St.Vincent of the Caribbean Islands, is roughly a 45 minute drive from the airport and will be a drive of about 1 ½ hours from the proposed international airport. It is superbly positioned on the western coast of the Caribbean Islands. This makes it the most coveted as this part of the Caribbean islands is calmer, quieter and the sea is more sedate. No wonder then that the property prices are higher.

After the Buccament Bay comes up, it will be a combination of properties, from 4 bedroom plantation homes on landscaped grounds to studio apartments. The cabanas would typically make up all the infrastructural facilities of the proposed hotel that will supply five star spaces that will also give freedom to be in private villas.

These cabanas will typically be fully furnished that will be fully air conditioned and will enable the owner to stay rent free for a month in a year. Of the one month however, two weeks must be in the high season and the remaining two during the low season.

What makes the Buccament Bay financially rewarding? As stated earlier, the Buccament Bay is deemed to be a destination that is immensely rewarding financially. You can buy a property and sell it later.

Each Buccament Bay property, because of the amenities and the location convenience, is expected to appreciate a great deal in terms of the monetary value. You can also use the Single Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) plan to make investments in the property and reap rich rewards.

Overall, the Buccament Bay is a mouth watering prospect, both from the entertainment and luxury and from the financial rewards and investment perspective.

Dream about being in Iranian President Ahmadinejad's mansion with US Judge Sotomayor? What does this mean?

The Dream:

I was walking into Ahmadinejad's property, which is a huge mansion in a tropical getaway in a caribbean island. I walk into the parking lot, where there is a collectionof luxury cars, a Lambo Murcielago, a Maybach, a Porsche Carrera, just to name a few.

I walk inside into his mansion, which looks like a huge vacation home, and Ahmadinejad signals to me "come on in", i keep on walking and im greeted by a lady who looks like Sonia Sotomayor, who i give a kiss in the cheek. Then, i look outside into the backyard and i see the mansion is a beachfront property, for which there is a typical caribbean beach up front, white sand, and turquoise water. It almost looked like Donald Trump's estate he used to have in Florida, which was once valued as the most expensive property in the US.

Seriously, this dream is not an exaggeration. I was actually enjoying the dream.

What is the interpretation of this dream?

Are you a republican? Seriously. This dream has the Iranian president and Judge Sotomayor as intimates. So that is how you see life - that they are living the good life and that liberals are somehow in bed with the middle east. But you have it all wrong. It is the Bush family (good conservatives) who were in bed with the Saudis - watch Michael Moore's movie.

What do you think of Royal Caribbean's decision to continue docking cruises in Haiti?

The article is here. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20100119/ts_ynews/ynews_ts1063

I think that docking cruises in Haiti is a perfect metaphor of how the well off in the world go about their lives while the poor suffer. It seems like the message being sent is that its rude to go about your usual lives of excess and luxury anywhere that the suffering can see you. Anyone else see that as kinda silly? What your take?

This incident has highlighted the several contradictions and problems that underpin the luxury cruise industry, and at a broader level, the gross social-economic inequalities that our current global economy generates.

Gwyn Topham, the author of 'Overboard: the Stories Cruise Line don't Want Told'"(ref below) has pointed out that the

"Royal Caribbean's pledge to 'not abandon Haiti now they need us most' might raise eyebrows in their other destinationas: such as Grenada, abandoned in the late 1990s for requesting a modest waste management levy, or conversely Alaska, which found it dfficult to keep cruise liners away despite a referendum seeking to curb their effects on unspoilt waters'. ... ... ... the logic of the private beach,(in Haiti) does not suggest funds being channelled openly to local economies ... ... ..the chasm that lies between the short lives of poverty led in Haiti and those that occasionally touch their shores..are not new ...(nor are the exploitative shipboard labour relations) that the International Transport Workers Federation has warned crews endure .Staff are hired from the poorest countries on earth under the kind of contracts made feasible by the global market. While their HQ are in Miami the biggest cruise liners are incorporated in Panama, Liberia ..the Bahamas, .. and sail under flags of convenience' ".

a legal situation which enables the stark contrast of the luxury of high consumption on the upperdecks and the 'sweat shop conditions two decks below'"

However Topham does concede that
'ironically this is an occasion that the cruise ships may be doing some good ferrying relief supplies and making a donation to the appeal"

Nevertheless, he .concludes by suggesting their greater contribution might be that this dramatic juxtapostion of luxury at 'the gate of hell' serves to lay bare the exploitative conditions of the labour markets from which we in the West benefit without usually having to face up to the actual costs to those who are producing the cheap labour, the cheap commodities, and the degradations of their country's environments..

So your point that this is the 'perfect metaphor' is well supported, both by the article you cite, and by this journalist whose business is the business of the Cruise Liners.
