caribbean islands weather in december

Aruba is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and is located in the Caribbean Sea north of Venezuela. The Netherlands Antilles islands of Bonaire and Curacao are just to the east. Aruba is fairly flat with some hills several hundred feet high. It is a popular tourist destination and is known for its white sandy beaches.

Hurricanes and tropical storms nearly always pass to the north of Aruba, through the central Caribbean or farther north. Occasionally some fringe effects such as outer rain bands or high surf do reach the island. Upper air winds are usually unfavorable for hurricanes to develop near Aruba. The tropical storms and hurricanes that do bring fringe effects mostly form east of the Lesser Antilles and then move well north of the island.

Aruba Rainfall

Aruba has a short wet season which runs from October through December. The increased rain is due to the proximity of the monsoon trough across northern South America. About 3-4 inches of rainfall occurs each month during this time period. The rest of the year is quite dry with an average of one inch per month.

Aruba Temperatures

Temperatures change very little during the year. Highs are in the upper 80's from late spring through early autumn. Overnight lows only drop to near 80 degrees. The rest of the year day time high temperatures reach the mid 80's with lows in the mid 70's.

Aruba Travel Weather Summary

Travelers visiting Aruba can count on lots of sunshine most months of the year. The temperatures are warm and change very little throughout the year. There is almost no threat of a direct hit from a hurricane, although some fringe effects can occur. Travelers may want to stay informed on tropical weather information, especially during the hurricane season.

caribbean cruises reviews

caribbean cruises reviews

There are all sorts of cruise reviews available, including those given by professional cruise critics. Professional critics give a unique perspective on cruises that you cannot get by reading passenger reviews. You can learn a lot by reading their reviews.

A Full Report of the Cruise

These critics explain every aspect of the cruises. They talk about embarking onto the ship and all the things you have to go through to get that done. This information will not only give you an idea of how good a particular ship does at accomplishing the boarding. It will also tell you what to expect when it is your time to board a cruise ship.

The accommodations will be discussed at length. The critics love to tell how big their cabins are (or are not) and what is in the rooms. Little extras like a shower door instead of a curtain, or towel art on the bed are topics of interest. The critics tell about each day of their trip as they go about their activities and use the special facilities like spas and steam rooms. By telling you what they find to be good and bad about the activities and features of the ships, they are also telling you what is considered normal.

Cruise critics explain about the tipping policies onboard and give an opinion as to whether they are acceptable or not. If you are a first time cruiser, you may just do as you are told without questioning whether your cruise ship has a good tipping policy. After reading a critic's review, you may choose another ship. Also, you may find out that you have the option of paying your tips upfront so you do not have to worry about them later.

One thing you can be sure of is that the critics will give their opinions about their dining experiences on the ship whether the food is excellent or disgusting. They will give examples of the kinds of foods they had and how well it was prepared. They will also describe the décor and ambience of the dining facilities.

They usually take some shore excursions so they can write about them if for no other reason. They will let you know if the cruise ship has organized their excursions well. You can understand from their reviews whether the shore excursions were fun for the critics. However, the critics will describe their reactions to the excursions in such a way that you will be able to see if your opinion might differ.

Cruise critics can help you to understand all the ins and outs of cruising aboard a certain ship. Their opinions are usually easy to sort from the facts they give on the cruises. For that reason, you can learn much about your cruise from them.

Need some cruise ship advice!?

im looking on going on the cruise ship Independence of the Sea which is a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship. I read the reviews and they are very mixed. Some said very bad dining and some said very good! some said bad wait staff and others said good! Can you give me your review if u have been on it? and please be honest! thank you!

I was on Majesty of the Seas (another Royal Carr ship). There was a lot of food- all the time! The scheduled "main" dining was the best food. As far as I was concerned, the buffet food was typical mass produced buffet fare, nothing to write home about.

I thoroughly enjoyed my cruise though! And was actually thankful the buffets weren't that great as I went home the same weight I left!

The staff was AMAZING - all the way around. Be careful on the tipping, I think we tipped as we went then, turned out that tips were also done at the end of the cruise.

Two bits of advice: Check your watch EVERY time you leave the ship on excursions! The time changes alot and you have to make sure you're on "ship time" so as not to miss the boat!

Also, all the food is FREE everywhere on the ship BUT if you want anything to DRINK you gotta pay up! Even water. It's kinda weird and expensive. My husband and I ended up bringing back large bottles of water from our excursions that was much cheaper than the ship's rates.

Are you planning to go on a travel cruise? Great! A cruise vacation is one of the most fun experiences you can have in life. Are you worried about your pet during those vacations? Many owners like you are worried because pet travel on cruise ships is not commonly allowed.

Why? Because cruise ships are not suitable places for pets. Companies prefer to stay away from trouble a large amount of pets can carry. Sure, you may find a couple of cruise ships that allow taking your pet, but this comes with an -often high- price!

The most commonly known cruise line that allows taking your pets is Cunard's Queen Elizabeth 2 this is a small cruise line that helps owners bring their pets. However, the acceptance of pets is limited. Cunard's QE2 offers many destinations, but regarding the issue of the pets, it is relative to the time of the year you book the cruise and the available on-board kennel.

What are the advantages of pet travel on cruise ships? Pet owners who are very close to their animals are the ones that will be happier, small charters that accept pets help you enjoy your vacations without having to worry about your pet, specially if you don't have anyone who is willing to take care of your pet.

You have to keep in mind, that your dogs will not be as free as in home. The kennels have visiting where you can spend time with your dog or cat, but they are very strict in order to keep order in the kennel. Finally, don't forget to bring all the needed documentation to make pet travel on a cruise ship possible.

Can anyone tell me about the Cruise ship- Coral Princess?

I want information from people who have been on this ship. Is it small, mid-size or on the larger side. I have been on Royal Caribbeans Explorer of the Seas and Carnival destiny. Is the Coral Princessanywhere near to being the same size as these?

i went on the coral princess in november of 2007, it is a mid size ship but it's the biggest that can fit through the panama canal.it has 2 pools, both on lever (15 or 16) i don't remember, and about 6 spa's. if you are going on it with about 3 people i would suggest a mini suite, i had a mini-suite on the dolphin deck, that is the lowest deck that you could have a balcony but compared to the other ships it is smaller it ca hold up to 3000 people including staff, but if you get the chance i would go through the panama canal on it. hope that i helped you.

Are you thinking of going to Borneo?

A Borneo Malaysia vacation offers endless excitement for wildlife adventures and awesome scenery on the world's third largest island. The island is home to exotic and endangered species such as orangutans, pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, tarsiers and other wild animals.

Tropical rainforests are dense entanglements that give cover to wild animals. Unlike an African safari, where the open Savannah easily exposes large groups of wildlife, observing wild creatures in Malaysia takes a bit more effort. But that's also part of the fun.

The states of Sarawak and Sabah make up Malaysian Borneo or East Malaysia. The two key gateway cities are Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. Here are some of the parks and sanctuaries to visit for the best chance to see some of Asia's most endangered species and a diversity of wildlife not found elsewhere in the world.

Sabah, Borneo

Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary - Take a ride on the Kinabatangan River for a wildlife outing in one of Malaysia's best nature experiences. If you're lucky you can observe Asian pygmy elephants grazing along the river bank, long-nosed proboscis monkeys sitting in treetops, hornbills and kingfishers flying by and enjoy this easy floating safari.

Tabin Wildlife Reserve - As a primary rainforest, this wildlife reserve protects important habitats for many of Malaysia's large mammals - elephants, rhinos, orangutans. For birdwatchers, hundreds of species are found in the jungle and swamplands, including hornbills, owls and eagles. Take a night safari to enjoy the sights of wild animals on the prowl. And don't forget to visit the mud volcano during the day for a splash in the muddy pools.

Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary - If you want to see orangutans up close, then do not skip a trip to this lowland rainforest reserve famous for rehabilitating former pet animals into wild residents. Walk on the boardwalk through towering tropical trees to observe these wonderful endangered primates that are under threat from deforestation and conflicts due to the expansion of plantation agriculture. Go to Sepilok for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to view one of the planet's most interesting species.

Sipadan Island - For those seeking an underwater adventure, Sipadan is rated as one of the world's best dive spots. An unending parade of marine biodiversity displays everything from schools of barracuda to reef resting green turtles. Nature explodes with diverse coral structures and a technicolor panorama of triggerfish, anemones, sea fans and angelfish... just for starters. As Malaysia's only oceanic island, a vertical cliff descends 600 meters to showcase an encrusted sea wall of plant and animal life.

Turtle Islands Park - Protecting the traditional landing and nesting grounds for Green and Hawksbill turtles, a visit to the park offers a chance to observe these ancient mariners returning to shore to start the next generation. Learn about the plight of sea turtles and local conservation efforts to save them from extinction.

Danum Valley Conservation Area - A research center amid some of the best lowland rainforest in Asia, Danum Valley is a trekker's paradise for birdwatching, wildlife observation and nature photography. If you want to get a real feel for the jungle, head over to Sabah and spend a few days on the forest trails.

Sarawak, Borneo

Bako National Park - If you go to Kuching, this park is just a few hours away for a great day trip to see a spectacular coastal reserve. A mixture of mangrove swamps, sandstone cliffs and seaside forests, wildlife abounds with proboscis monkeys, pit vipers, flying lemurs and other wild creatures. Enter the park from the sea and capture the gorgeous scenery of this pristine habitat.

Gunung Mulu National Park - Rugged limestone formations surrounded by dense tropical rainforest provides for fantastic scenery outside and cave exploration inside. Watch millions of bats emerge at dusk from some of the largest cave chambers in the world or trek through the jungle to mountaintops to explore the unique blade-sharp Pinnacles rising from the forest floor like daggers.

Niah National Park - Gigantic caves are home for millions of bats that exit each night to forage on hoards of insects, while swifltlets make edible nests on cave walls. Jungle trails traverse through lowland and hill rainforest to expose an assortment of wild animals such as monkeys, monitor lizards, flying lizards, hornbills and other rainforest birds.

Batang Ai National Park - Located in pristine interior jungles next to a wildlife sanctuary, the park is an oasis of wildlife set against a lake reservoir formed by a hydroelectric dam. Orangutans, gibbons and hornbills provide good opportunities for wild sightings in excellent rainforest habitats. Visitors can also learn about traditional Iban lifestyles by spending time in a longhouse and going into the jungle with an Iban guide.

All-spice is a quay ingredient and greatly used in cultural cooking and is native to the Caribbean Islands. When the fruit is dried out at this point the fruit looks like dried peppercorns. The whole fruits are said to have a longer shelf life than the dried powder type. This product produces a more aromatic flavor when freshly ground before use.

The all-spice leaves also has great cooking properties and is used where available in cooking they are similar in look to bay leaves. They are used to infuse food and disgared when serving.

Another us for the wood and leaves of this plant is to smoke meat and dry fish.

All-spice is not, as some people believe, a mixture of spices. Rather, it is the Dried fruit of the pimento plant. This fruit is picked and dried out in the sun, when ripe the fruit is green but when the fruit has undergone the drying processes they turn brown and have the resemblance of large peppercorns. The whole fruits in my opinion are a much better product as they have a much longer shelf life, than what its powdered form will give. It is much better to ground this spice just before using it as it will give a more freshly prepared flavor and the aromatic essence of the fruit is brought out.

The leaves of the all-spice plant are generally used in cooking by the natives in the Caribbean Island. They use leaves in cooking where possible as it has grown to be part of there culture. The pimento leave is very similar to bay leaves they have a common use amongst the natives of the Caribbean thus used to infuse the food with flavor then removed at the time of consumption. All- spice has another more common trait as the wood and leaves are used to smoke meat or fish and vegetables. All-spice being a local crop it is also found in essential oils.

Spice are also known for there natural medicinal properties. All- spice is commonly known as a seasoning, spice, or an extract usually derived from food. The content of nutrients and non-nutrient substances are minimal, and that is due to the fact that they are consumed in small amounts.

However spices give variety and flavor to the food also helping to stimulate the appetite encouraging the flow of the digestive juices. They are well known both in the Caribbean Island and in Europe for its soothing properties. It has been known to be the host of many colds and flu remedies around the world, medicinally all-spice is a digestive aid that promotes the digestive enzymes, and it is a natural anesthetic and helps with muscular pain and tooth ache. So that's why I think all spice is a culinary giant in the world of spices.

What is the best internet travel site to find the cheapest and best tropic vacations?

I want to take a vacation to the Caribbean and I am not sure what is the best site to look at. I don't want a crappy room for the money either.

Thats hard to say.. Why don't you try Tripadvisor.com. There's so many Caribbean islands that you should try and narrow it down by what it is exactly you are looking for in a vacation first and then go from there. Most islands will have different levels of resorts / villas to choose from. Also, once you decide on a few different islands it will be easier to come back on here to ask peoples opinions. Good luck. The Caribbean is my favorite place to go.

A dream vocation can be fun filled if there is enormous relaxation along with diverse fun filling activities while one takes a cruise liner in the Caribbean. There are possibilities of making new friends and also sometimes ending up having a romantic affair while one gets on a voyage. Actual life takes a back step and the one gets entangled in the massive excitement which lies in front of him. One needs to just pack the bag full of swimming costumes instead of the daily formals at the same time follow few tips which would help to make the voyage a perfect one.

o A timely decision needs to be made to select the best cruise liner before setting off for a perfect voyage.

o Most important is to book the liner as early as possible as the best cruise one wishes to avail might not be available for him during the holiday season. This would also ensure to buy the favorite spot one wish to own during the cruising period along with several discounts and cost reduction offers at the same time.

o One should think about what one would like to enjoy with during the vocation period. If one has the passion of diving then the liner selected must take to the spots meant for diving, if shopping is the obsession then the preferred cruise line must be filled with shopping arenas.

o How much time and days one needs to spend on the voyage is also a point to be considered. If one has more days in hand to enjoy then there exits chance to stopover extra places on the way. Budgeting is also very important while planning a journey.

o Weather needs to be taken care off while planning the trip as the cruises which run during summer charge less then those in winter season.

o There should be an insurance cover, proper passport and visa attached along with the necessary documents during the cruising on the Caribbean.

o If one takes a shorter trip in the Caribbean then it would only cover the Bahamas, Florida but a larger trip would cover the Eastern, Southern and western Caribbean regions.

o Booking of hotels or motels in advance would lessen the tension during the voyage of accommodation. If food supplies are too preplanned will again reduce the tension and one can enjoy to an extreme.

o Meeting and taking advice from an experience travel agent can be a big help and support.

o If traveling alone then one should book its personal cabin on the liner which can be costly too but at the same time adds up to ones relaxation.

o If one is phobic towards homesickness can always invite friends and families on the cruise which will be like a party time for the family.
