Should you not plan a vacation to the Caribbean in late June or early July?

We're trying to plan our honeymoon and it's between that or Mexico.

If you come to Dominican Republic you can come anytime, temperatures are the same, only in may that we get some rain.

But climate is excellent at the beaches.

I recomend you for your honeymoon Bavaro Barcelo Palace Hotel it is excelent and not quite expensive, then you can visit the capital Santo Domingo, if you like to visit the historical center.

What's the best way to purchase cruise excursions?

I am going on a cruise in May on Royal Caribbean to the Bahamas (Nassau and Coco Cay) and was just wondering what was the best route to go when buying excursions. Looks like the excursions that RC provides on their website are limited and pricey. Is there a site I can look at that is good with excursions? Should I just wait til I get off the boat to buy excursions? My wife and I will probably want to go to a resort and hangout by the pool and beach and have a couple of drinks. Also a jet ski tour would be cool too. Thanks in advance!

You will get a ton of tips and maybe a group deal for a shore excursion too. Also on that web site you will find many more cruise tips. Most of these people do independent shore excursions, but they are also a great source for shore excursions through the cruise company. I have gotten the best advice and tips ever from cruisecritic.

Caribbean vacation with great snorkeling and stuff for young kids?

We're planning a Caribbean vacation for this coming winter and have 2 basic requirements to fill in selecting our hotel/resort destination...well, 3 requirements if we include not breaking the bank.

First, for me, I want to know where we can go that has great snorkeling off the beach WITHOUT joining a tour...I just want to hit the beach with my gear and get in some great snorkeling at my own convenience.

Second, we have kids age 7 and 12 who need stuff to do...not necessarily Atlantis, completely over the top stuff to do, but still, kid friendly and with more than just a pool and a beach.

Atlantis is out....while loaded with kid stuff, I understand there's no good snorkeling available without a tour. Other than that, any all suggestions welcome.

Curacao fits the bill pretty good for you in this case.
Curacao offers great snorkeling sites, and lots of them are accessible from the beaches, so no need to rent a boat or anything.

As for the kids, Curacao offers a lot of things for people of all ages, kids included. The Breezes resort is a very well packed all inclusive resort with a lot of activities for kids. On the island itself, you'll find the Curacao Seaquarium, Ostrich Farm, Marco's Fish farm, Kura Hulanda Museum, Christoffel Park, Jan Thiel beach Club and many more.

Caribbean Vacation?

Has anyone been to a resort with a "clothing required" beach? I don't exactly want to explain to my girls about men's "packages" and to my boy about women's "packages"!!!!!!
Please give names of resort and Island.

Usually resorts are listed as "clothing optional" but if you want to stay family friendly safe check out Beaches Resorts. My favorite is in Turks & Caicos.
