Is there a nice resort on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, right on the beach, that has fishing & casinos?

I'm looking for a resort, right on the beach of the Caribbean coast of Cotsa Rica, that's known for the fishing, & ideally has a casino close by. Any ideas? Or if there's no such place on the Caribbean side, what about the Pacific side?

For fishing the best place is north of Limon in Barra de Colorado, the othe good area for fishing is on the pacific coast in Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
Now for Casinos the better ones are in San José such as the Hotel Fiesta near the airport, Cariari, Herradura, Irazu, Corobici, Marriott, Radisson and the one that used to be called Camino Real near the Multiplaza.

Is this a cheap vacation??

I am planning a 7 night/8 day cruise with Royal Caribbean for next year in May.
It's for me and my boyfriend's 4 year anniversary.
This is a first cruise for the both of us.
It goes to Labadee, Haiti; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico.
An interior room is $599, an oceanview is $779.
Is this worth it?
Remember, it's 7 nights and with Royal Caribbean.
Also, I was told that it's better to get a room with a window so you don't feel claustrophobic, but I was also told that all you are in your room for is to sleep and shower.

Any suggestions??

That is a very good price. I went on that exact same cruise in May, and it was more expensive. As for the room you are hardly in it, so why pay a lot for the oceanview. What I did was get an inside promenade, it has a window, but it looks onto the promenade. The room is a nice size and you can look out and people watch, and watch the promenade activities without leaving the room. Plus the promenade rooms are closer to everything.
This ship and itinerary were good, you will really enjoy yourself. If you need more info feel free to IM me.

Is it safe to go an all inlcusive resort in Jamaica or Turks and Caicos with a 4 month old infant?

We have to fly out of the US and back in so we may a swell take a holdiay. We have a 4 month old and a 2 yr old. Is it safe to go to the caribbean with a 4 month old? And also leave them in childcare at a luxury resort?

I don't know about Turks and Caicos. Jamaica should be fine. Have you considered the Dominican Republic? I live in the DR and we took our son to an all-inclusive resort when he was about 5 months.
However, I would not leave them with the hotel child care. They don't have the same qualifications as childcare in the states. Actually they have no qualifications at all. It would basically be like a teen baby sitter that you didn't know or interview. Personally I would not feel comfortable with that.

what cruises originate in either Costa Rica or panama to Caribbean or south America?

I am searching for a cruise that originates in either panama or costa rica going to a non-usa port.

Cruises no...

But for a more intimate option you can do sailing charters from Panama and visit some of the most beautiful places the region has to offer.
I was lucky enough to spend 3 weeks on a boat that does charters last year. "Ladyhawke" a 63' trimaran does trans canal trips, tours in Las Perlas, Darien trips, and San Blas trips (which is where I was lucky enough to join them)

What Caribbean islands have waterfalls?

My friends and I are trying to decide on a Caribbean vacation destination. One of my friends would like to go somewhere with waterfalls. Do you have a suggestion?

The more lush islands with mountians have waterfalls. That includes Puerto Rico, Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic & Haiti and more... Just beware of the dry arid isalnds.

In Puerto Rico I've seen & swam in lots of waterfalls. In el Yunque rain forest you can walk to La Mina waterfalls & swim in them, actually there are lots of waterfalls in el yunque because its a rain forest with lots of water. its so cool

People People. Don't jump the gun just yet.

It sounds like what you received is a promotion sponsored by Ramada.

In exchange for you visiting their resort, they will give you a free hotel stay and a free cruise.

Of course you will have to do a timeshare tour. This does not mean its a scam! Scams are when someone purposely takes your money without any intent on providing a service/product.

Regarding the hotel. I am not sure what resort they want you to tour. They typically have you stay at the same resort you will be touring. Which means the resort has to be half decent, from a business stand point right? They are not going to have you stay in a hole in the wall, and then ask you to spend thousands to get coming back.

Also included in the promotion is a cruise. The cruise is probably on the Bahamas Celebration. Previously the ship that was used for this promotion was Regal Empress. The ship was old and its GONE!

The Bahamas Celebration is a cruise ship run by Celebration Cruise Line.

Now, nothing is free. You do have to pay small fees like taxes and tips for the cruise and hotel stay. However, its a great deal if you go with an open mind and don't expect the Ritz Hotel and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. I would suggest looking into it!

Continue to do your own research like you have been doing; and make your own decision.

what is the age policy on royal Caribbean cruises?

I'm 21 traveling with a 20 year old. If i book the room under my name is it ok that the other person is under 21? I think with carnival if your under 21 you have to be in a room with someone 25 or older.

This is the answer directly from the Royal Caribbean site:

No guest under the age of twenty-one (21) will be reserved in a stateroom unless accompanied by an adult twenty-one (21) years of age, or older. This age limit will be waived for minor children sailing with their parents or guardians in adjacent staterooms or under-aged married couples (proof of marriage is required).

According to this, you CAN travel with a 20 year old as long as you are over 21. You are correct about Carnival; you would need to be over 25. The policy is different for Royal Carribean.
