Family Reunion Vacations can be quite overwhelming especially if you aren't organized. Good thing is, you're planning a family cruise vacation which automatically makes this trip less hassles and second, you're here. So lets get to it shall we?

The 5 easy and simple steps to planning a family reunion cruise will help you maintain organization throughout the entire process, and leave you with less headaches.

Step 1. Selecting dates of travel for everyone.

Since your mother and father, brothers, sisters, aunt and uncles, cousins and everybody else is traveling along with this family reunion vacation, picking a date has to be mandatory. Since everyone has different careers and days off, what dates are best? For one, family reunion cruises are meant to satisfy all family members.

A typical 5-day cruise will satisfy the majority. Since some may fear of getting sea sick from cruising too long, and others may complain if the cruise isn't long enough, 5 days work best. Planning a week off should be mandatory for all family members traveling on the cruise. That way you'll have time to rest after the cruise is over and chat about all the fun you've just experienced.

Step 2. Choosing the right ship.

Can you guess how many cruise line are there? Answer, well over twenty. If a few family members has already cruised before and loved the cruise line, then stick with that one. Unless, you want to explore your options, then here's how to choose.

Carnival. Called the fun ship is by far the peoples choice for cruising, especially for 1st timers. Almost all of their ships have been re-innovated to customer's likings, which means more activities, space and fun.

Costa Cruises. Almost the entire staff is affluent in different languages, so speaking Italian onboard is welcomed. Rated as Europe's #1 Cruise line, this ship can take families from the U.S. to Europe easily.

Princess Cruise line. This elegant cruise line has its own uniqueness. It's the only cruise line where couples can actually marry onboard and honeymoon at the same time.

And the list goes on and on. This choice depends on your family, if the majority wants fun and a youthful feeling, stick with Carnival. Disney cruise line are also perfect for kids, adults too; and has one of the most exciting cruise packages out there.

Step 3. How many family members are going?

Is everyone bringing their kids, are friends possibly traveling together? We know it'll be kind of hard getting an exact number, but an estimate can really make all the difference in price. Plus, it makes the group reservation process a lot easier. The main key is not to leave out any family members.

Including your cousins, aunts and uncles really becomes mandatory because this may be the only time that everyone unites? Seeing your nieces and nephews on this family reunion vacation can really make up for years of lost time. And don't forget to bring along your grand parents, they'll be glad you did.

Step 4. Where are you sailing too?

Are you familiar with Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries? Not too many are, so picking a cruise destination has to be simplified for all family members. Here's our simplifications of some itineraries..

Western Caribbean destinations... are some of the most fun and popular cruises. Places like Ocho Rios, Montego Bay Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island, Cozumel Mexico, Key West-Fl, Nassau Bahamas, Belize, Costa Maya and many more western Caribbean destinations are places of beauty you have to see. Shore excursions and touring the island becomes memories of a lifetime.

Eastern Caribbean Destinations... are quite the compliment. Vacation destinations such as St. Maarten, St Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, Antigua, Cost Rica, Virgin islands, Puerto Rico, Panama and many more exotic islands people only dream about to adventure will easily be memories the entire family tree will experience.

European and selective destinations: Hawaii, Dubai, Far East, South America, India Ocean, Egypt, Israel, Canada and New England destinations are cruise vacations many didn't even know existed.

Step 5. Find a Travel agent/Agency.

Make sure your working with a travel agent and not the cruise line directly. Try and do this yourself, there are headaches I fail to even mentioned because I'm assuming you're going to work with one already.

Master these 5 easy steps for planning your family reunion cruise, and everything else becomes a walk in the park. Bonus tip! Start planning in advance, at least like 6 months ahead.

Islands in the Caribbean are world famous for their natural beauty, pristine beaches, and clear waters. However, the islands always get associated with postcards that reflect the beachfront scenes. The truth is that the interiors of these islands are as exciting as the shores. The shores are tropical in nature and traveling on foot might not be to everyone's taste in those parts. Moving inwards of the islands and higher up where the temperatures are cooler opens up other forms of exploration in form of Caribbean hiking. On these hikes, people are afforded up and close view of the unique plant and animal life of the Caribbean. These include hummingbirds, bromeliads, orchids, fruits, and several species of exotic plants. The increasing trend of eco-tourism has increased the Caribbean hiking preferences among people.

Caribbean hiking takes place along trails that offer plenty of diversity across the islands. Due to the presence of plantations, most trials run through them, the tropical forests that are a feature of the Caribbean, and from there they go up into the mountains. Due to the different varieties of Caribbean hiking, there are easy and tough hiking trials. Make proper inquiries of the trial you are thinking about before embarking on it. Not all Caribbean hiking trials are convenient for all people. Likewise, make sure you are dressed appropriately. Since the Caribbean in tropical, rainfall is almost consistent in those parts and several hiking trials may be reduced to muddy paths that you might find difficult to navigate. Depending on the island where you intend to go Caribbean hiking you might need permission to venture out on your own. Some islands make it mandatory to have a guide.

Here are some of the popular Caribbean hiking trials.

Dominican Republic

This is only for extreme hikers with the highest point being Pico Duarte at 10,700 feet. Beginners had best avoid this 12-mile Caribbean hiking trial that lasts for 2 days.

Grenada

This Caribbean hiking trial is suitable for all hikers. You can go on any of the guided tours that will take you into the rainforest. You may go alone after taking the required permission. Grand Etang Lake is an easy Caribbean hiking trial.

Puerto Rico

Located within the boundaries of the Caribbean National Forest, the El Yunque Trial is a moderate to extreme Caribbean hiking trial. It takes the hiker to a height of 3500 feet while covering 2 miles. The trial goes through many forest types and offers views of the sea and mountains.

What am I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

My dad is an immigrant from the Caribbean island of Grenada and he is at least 40% white. His dad is 75 percent white, and his mother is 25 percent white. My mother is completely African-American. what does that make me? How much white is in me?

Here my family tree so you can get a better idea:

http://www.myheritage.com/site-family-tree-109075251/preudhomme

If his dad is 75% white, he is 37.5% from his dad.
If his mother is 25% white, he is 12.5% white from her.
37.% + 12.5 = 50%. So, he is 50% and you are 25%, from him.
If your mother is completely African-American, there isn't any white from her, so you are just the 25% (1/4) from your dad.

Should I put lemon juice in my hair/ how can I?

i have dirty dark blonde hair that is golden in sunlight.
i want to just add some natural highlights but i don't know how to do it our how it will turn out.
can someone show me some pictures of people who have done it?
also is it a good idea for me to do?
thanks

oh.. and one more thing, since i am on vacation in the caribbean should i wash my hair after leaving it in for a little while? and what will happen when i go in sea water with it?

im sorry for so many questions but if u answer you will help me a lot THANKS :D

Put lemon juice (squeezed from lemons, NOT from concentrate) in a spray bottle and spray your hair. Dilute it with just a bit of water. Rinsing you hair in chamomile tea works well, also. Lay out in the sun for a few hours (wear sunscreen!).

People who have done it:

GORGEOUS!

Yes, you should wash your hair. Don't wet your hair after you've put in the solution until your 2 hours is up. Seawater, containing large amounts of sodium chloride (That's scientist talk for "salt") can dry out your hair (and skin, for that matter), and it is best to wash your hair with a nourishing shampoo after swimming.

All the best,
Albert

Britain's wealth of quaint coastal towns and ruggedly beautiful coastline means that sailing around Britain is never boring, whether it's your first circumnavigation of Britain or your fifth. The route you take will largely be decided by the anchorages you choose and the towns you want to visit on the way. The waters of the Solent, with Southampton at its northernmost reaches, Portsmouth Harbour on its shores and sheltered by the Isle of Wight, are a good starting pointing. From there, the prevailing South Westerly will probably dictate that you head in an anti-clockwise direction towards Edinburgh, instead of first visiting the dramatic west coast of Scotland.

The Solent

The Solent is prime sailing territory in Britain, due to its sheltered position between the South coast and the Isle of Wight and complex tidal pattern. I It  also hosts to the popular Cowes Week sailing race. The coastal area is of particular interest to naturalists and the estuary has been declared a conversation zone owing to its rich fauna and flora. The Solent is also one of the most popular places from which to learn to sail yachts in Britian.

The Hebrides

All the way up north, the Hebrides arguable possess the most evocative and breathtaking coastlines in Great Britain, and offer endless opportunities for coastal sailing and exploration owing to the dozens of islands that are scattered across Scotland's western waters. The only drawback is that the weather is harsh and the waters can become extremely dangerous.  The islands support small populations of local people, and so the villages preserve old Celtic traditions. They also support populations of puffins, seals and otters and you are bound to see dolphins while on the water.

Tinker's Hole off the isle of Mull has been voted as one of Britain's best anchorages. It offers all-round shelter to yachts and magnificent views, sandy beaches and a cave that can be explored by dingy.

Northumbria

Northumbria in North East England offers some great sailing and interesting anchorages.  Holy island provides a peaceful haven to escape to while sailing around Britain. It boasts an attractive and historic village called Lindisfarne and an imposing castle that sits above the cliff faces. The Farne islands off the Northumbrian coast are home to the largest populations of many coastal species in Britian, including grey seals and puffins and are the ideal location for animal and bird lovers.  There are two good anchorages around the islands called Pinnacle Haven and the Kettle. The islands also boast an interesting cultural history.

Sailing around Britain allows intrepid explorers the opportunity to escape from city life and explore places that are completely off the beaten track and is also a perfect way to see the best of Britain.

People usually pick up souvenirs and gifts as mementos of their vacation. There is a wide plethora of souvenirs, novelties and travel gifts one can pick up while travelling. These souvenirs usually have a special meaning attached to the trip. Over time, these remind of the time spent on vacation. The value of the mementos keeps increasing over the years. More than anything else, just collecting souvenirs is sheer fun.

There are times when an individual travels to some other town or country and relatives and friends expect to be gifted on their return. Souvenirs are apt gifts for the babysitter, who usually watches over the kids or people who watch over the house while you are away. There are people who appreciate souvenirs like baseball hats and T-shirts and even a magnet with the country or state's name on it. However big or small the gift, remember that it is the thought that counts.

Whenever you go out shopping for travel gifts and mementos, don't forget those people back home who are eagerly awaiting your return. If there are a lot of children in the neighborhood or in your extended family, make sure you buy sufficient souvenirs for all. Keep a backup of souvenirs, as these come handy if you unintentionally forget somebody or want one for yourself. When you buy two or three mementos of a particular kind, don't forget to keep one for yourself.

Refrigerator magnets with the state's image or map are the least expensive and the most popular mementos. One can also buy ashtrays, coffee mugs, travel mugs, glasses and cigarette lighters. You need not be a coffee drinker or a smoker to purchase or receive these travel gifts. They make wonderful trinkets for displaying.

Key chains, window decals, bumper stickers, miniature spoons, miniature tea sets and glass bells, which display the name or map of the country or state, also make wonderful gifts and souvenirs. These items prove to be great holiday gifts for relatives and neighbors. There are some people who maintain a fine collection of miniature tea sets or spoons and your gift could make an excellent addition to their collection. T-shirts, baseball hats, sweat shirts, jackets, coolers and pens with the country or state namesake imprints and other gifts prove to be excellent gifts for the kids, your family and yourself.

When you travel out of the country, check out the amazing collection of mementos available on and off line.

When you go souvenir shopping during your vacation, make sure you buy a sufficient quantity of the special gifts. Follow this particularly if you are travelling to a place you may never be able to re-visit. It is always a good idea to bring something back to remind you time and again of the memorable trip.

What is the cheapest caribbean island to visit without getting shot?

Dominican Republic. Fly in to Puerto Plata as opposed to Santo Domingo. The north coast is where the most scenic beauty is. Prices in the DR are the cheapest in the Caribbean, especially if you rent a car and get out of the main tourist areas. Most of the other islands have either an expensive infrastructure for tourists or a very poor one for the locals. Nothing in between. Here is a good web site to get you started. A visit to Las Terrenas in the Samana area is highly recommended. It is a fantastic drive from Puerto Plata to a gorgeous area filled with maybe the nicest beaches in the country and boutique style accomodations. Very few Americans but a popular destination for Europeans.

For vegetarians, dining out presents many challenges; finding vegan choices can be even more frustrating. Add travel to the mix and you've got a potential recipe for disaster. While the Caribbean's abundance of seafood will suit pescetarians, discovering true vegetarian meals requires a bit more work. Fortunately, a little research before you go will help find dining choices which are not only suitable but delicious.

If you're planning to take a cruise, you're in luck. A number of cruise lines offer vegetarian options, a complete vegetarian menu, or can make you special dishes on request. Celebrity Cruises has received rave reviews for their excellent gourmet vegetarian cuisine, which tailors meals to diners' needs. NCL and Royal Caribbean also rank highly with vegetarian passengers. Carnival Cruise Lines, on the other hand, may be one to avoid. Although they offer one vegetarian item per menu and claim they can accommodate vegetarian requests, they don't have a dietician on board, so their ability to make changes is limited. For vegans, this can be a big problem. One vegan reports that she was assured before the cruise that her diet would be no trouble; however, all she could actually eat was bread, lettuce, and an occasional baked potato. When booking a cruise with any company, tell them you're vegetarian or vegan and ask any questions you may have about menu offerings.

Land-lubbers may find the easiest way to assure a variety of vegetarian choices is to stay at a resort with several restaurants. The Sandals chain, for example, includes up to eleven eateries at each location. Their menus typically include at least one vegetarian option in each category. While that may sound limiting, resort menus tend to change frequently, often nightly. Resorts also usually have a buffet, so you'll be able to pick and choose. Sample menus are generally posted on a resort's website, so logging online may be one way to do a bit of investigative work. Still, it's a good idea to check with the resort before booking to find out how veg-friendly they are.

Higher-end resorts are often more conscious of serving healthy food, including vegetarian dishes. Some of them use locally grown and/or organic items in their cooking. Even if you can't afford to stay there, you may be able to eat at their restaurants. For instance, the Sugar Mill Restaurant at the Sugar Mill Hotel (British Virgin Islands) is a local treat that's worth the trip. Voted "The Best Restaurant in the Caribbean" by readers of Caribbean Travel & Life, this gourmet restaurant's ever-changing menu always offers several vegetarian dishes and its atmosphere makes it a great place for a special night out.

Meat-free travelers interested in visiting the Dominican Republic should consider Sirenis Hotels, which have an all-vegetarian restaurant at their Punta Cana resort complex. Comprised of Sirenis Cocotal Beach Resort and Sirenis Tropical Suites, the vegetarian restaurant seems to be on the all-inclusive plan of Tropical Suites but not Cocotal Beach Resort. If you prefer to stay at Cocotal, check with them to find out if you'll be able to eat at the vegetarian restaurant.

As far as specific countries go, Jamaica is veggie heaven. Because Rastafarians are vegetarian, options abound. The key word to remember is "Ital," derived from "vital." Ital cooking uses pure, organic ingredients, and is essentially vegan. However, some dishes may contain honey, so if you don't eat honey be sure to ask about it. In fact, Ital is a good word to look out for anywhere, as Ital food can be found in other countries, too.

Puerto Rico also has a number of cafés and restaurants which are either all-vegetarian or veg-friendly. If you're having a hard time finding a place, keep your eyes out for the fast food chain Pollo Tropical, which doesn't put meat in its rice and beans.

Of course, ethnic restaurants are good stand-bys anywhere. An island's ethnic population will partially determine what's available. For instance, Trinidad has a number of Chinese and Indian restaurants because immigrants came over from those countries prior to the 20th century.

For casual or take-out meals, look for natural food supermarkets, which sometimes have delis with vegetarian items. Nature's Way in the British Virgin Islands' Road Town is one such place.

The brief list of dining options below will help you get started. Some aren't exclusively vegetarian, but all include at least a few veggie choices on their menus. Vegan and vegan-friendly are indicated with a V.

Antigua: Kalabashe, St. John's West. V

Barbados: Back to Eden, Speightstown. V

Cancun: 100% Natural. V

Cayman Islands: Veggie Delights, Georgetown. V

Dominican Republic: Lotos Restaurant, Santo Domingo. V

Nevis: Natural Livity, Newcastle Village. V

Puerto Rico: Asiquesi, Cabo Rojo. V

St. Martin: Top Carrot, Simpson Bay.

Trinidad: Mother Nature, Port of Spain.

Tobago: Kariwak Village Restaurant, Crown Point.

US Virgin Islands: Soul Vegetarian, Christiansted. V

A few good online resources are www.HappyCow.net, www.VegDining.com, and www.VegSource.com. Unlike the first two, VegSource doesn't have a directory, but its forum has a few threads on restaurants in the Caribbean, and you can always post your own question. Also take a look at the online international yellow pages. Just remember that businesses have to pay money to be listed, so not all restaurants will be represented.

When you're on your trip, if you want to try a restaurant that's out of the way, call first since listings can be outdated. With a little preparation, you'll spend less time worrying about where you're going to eat and more time enjoying your travels.

Where to go next?

Been to the Bahamas on our first cruise, now where would you suggest our second cruise should be? Maybe Cozumel, on a western caribbean, or US Virgin Islands, or any other place that sounds good.

My vote, the US Virgin islands. They are amazing! So much to see, and there is something for everyone! Stay on St Thomas, and its busier and has a better night life and toursity feel. St John is more rustic, as 3/4 island is a national park. And the underlying message, the beaches, of course! Great snorkeling, which is my favorite part of the islands. You cannot appreciate these islands on a cruise...go for a week, you will love it!

Depending on what route you have taken for your Caribbean cruise it is very useful to have good prior knowledge of the places you will be visiting. You have already a great array of activities to keep you busy on board your cruise but you must also take advantage of the wonderful places you will stop at to take a break from the on board activities. So without further ado here is a small run down of the best Islands you simply must see in your Caribbean cruise.

1. St. Croix.

If you have chosen to cruise around the Eastern side of the Caribbean, St Croix in the Virgin Islands offers great facilities if you are a sporty type as you can go kayaking. But if you are more interested in history here you can also visit the landing site of Christopher Columbus.

2. St. Thomas

Still in the Virgin Island in St. Thomas you will find a perfect venue for snorkeling at the Cinnamon Bay National Park. This is because St. Thomas' surrounding water is very shallow enabling you to see the wonderful creatures living underwater.

3. Grenada

To see the largest shipwreck in the Caribbean Grenada is the place to visit. But also if you like to scuba dive there are great under water sights here. You will be able to see lots of underwater volcanoes as well as colorful tropical fish. Even though hurricane Ivan devastated this island in 2004 it is still very much a place you must visit if you can.

4. Jamaica

If you stop over in Jamaica as well as the busy markets you can go and visit the resting place of Bob Marley and if you are into extreme sports you can also go Bamboo rafting.

5. Puerto Rico

Worth a quick visit as Puerto Rico has one of the most famous beaches in the world: Condado Beach

6. Aruba

This small island in the Dutch Antilles has no less than 365 beaches. With that many you will struggle not to find a spot where you will be able to relax and take in the sun and sea. It is considered by many as the paradise island of the paradise that is the Caribbean.

On holiday - UK to the USA. Can I fly Miami to the US Virgin Islands and back without immigration problems?

My wife and I are going to the USA for a month. While there we would like to go to St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Anyone ever done this, or to another Caribbean Island? Wondering if there would be immigration problems on our return to Miami. Or would the best bet be to go on a cruise out of Miami?
Thanks Halo. Been doing some more research. Think we'll go somewhere else! A 14 year old girl, a Carnival Cruise passenger, was shot dead there last week, see: http://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/news/news.cfm?ID=3985

As long as your passports are valid there shouldn't be a problem. A lot of people do this all the time. To be honest you could fly to Australia while vacationing in the US without any problems.
