Beaches would certainly be a place where you could drink all the cokes you liked without extra charge. There is a new acqua park there where you could enjoy yourselves, or you could participate in other beach activities which would satisfy your wish for activity. Tourist figures are down at the moment and you could get a good deal. http://www.turksandcaicostourism.com/

Grand Cayman has long been known as a small, charming island and its capital city of Georgetown is no different. Where this picturesque, walkable city is lacking in glitz and glamour, it answers with historic architecture, one-of-a-kind sites and excellent shopping opportunities. Take a walk through Georgetown and you will see why this city and the island of Grand Cayman are unlike any other destinations in the Caribbean.
One of the first stops for most visitors in Georgetown is the Cayman Islands National Museum. Housed in a colonial courts building constructed in 1833, the museum opened to the public in 1990 with a collection of more than 2,000 artifacts. Oddly enough, much of the initial collection was purchased from an intrepid local historian, Ira Thompson, who had amassed one of the Caribbean's finest private collections over a period of 50 years. The initial collection, much of which is still on display today, included a wealth of historical documents, local flora and fauna samples, rare Caribbean coins and plenty of local oddities.
Today, the Cayman Islands National Museum's exhibitions focus on the remarkable success of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Together, these three islands measure just over 100 square miles, nearly half of that land occupied by low-lying mangrove swamps. As the Cayman Islands lacked the natural resources of other colonial Caribbean locations, residents once relied entirely on fishing, turtling and the export of thatch rope. However, throughout the late colonial period and well into the 20th century, Caymanians came to be known as exemplary seamen. In fact, until the rise of Caribbean tourism in the 1970s, the income of such skilled sailors drove the islands' modest economy.
In addition to the fascinating story told within the museum, visitors should also take time to enjoy the views of Hog Sty Bay. With Grand Cayman's most historic structure set against the picturesque shoreline, the view has become one of the most celebrated and photographed on the island. Before leaving the museum for other sites in Georgetown, visitors can also enjoy the gift shop which features a fine selection of books, jewelry, locally-produced arts and crafts and free walking maps of Georgetown. The Cayman Islands National Museum is open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM.
Also near the Georgetown waterfront, visitors will spot the Elmslie Memorial United Church. This peaceful church, named for the island's first Presbyterian missionary, has long been at the center of Caymanian cultural and religious life. Known as a simple, friendly society, Grand Cayman's values are reflected in the details of this beautiful, but modest building. Featuring a stunning vaulted ceiling with wooden arches and an austere, but majestic interior, Elmslie Memorial United Church has been revered as a place of peaceful contemplation by locals and visitors alike.
While Grand Cayman's capital is known as quiet, historic city, shopping has become a favorite activity for travelers. As Grand Cayman has no sales tax and many stores offer duty-free merchandise, there are plenty of great values to be found throughout Georgetown. Throughout the small, independent shops and larger shopping malls, visitors will find everything from designer clothing and accessories to unique artwork and souvenirs. One of the best places to find local products is the Cayman Craft Market located in central Georgetown. Regardless of where you decide to shop in Georgetown or throughout Grand Cayman, tax-free and duty-free shopping will lead you to plenty of incredible bargains.
If you want to experience live music, theatre or the bar and restaurant scene of Georgetown, the Friday edition of the Caymanian Compass is the first place to start. This local paper features listings for all of the island's upcoming entertainment and highlights the best spots for any type of tourist to find dinner, drinks and fun. The paper is distributed throughout Georgetown, but copies will also be available through the concierge or front desk at most resorts.
Georgetown is one of the most unique cities in the Caribbean and there are plenty of ways to explore its treasures. From the rich history of the Cayman Islands National Museum to the deals found around every corner, Georgetown helps set Grand Cayman apart.

Hello dears, Doris here. Pay attention now as I do need you to listen to me before I ask for your questionable
advice. Boris has been growing restless-we have been married 29 years now so you think he'd be settled. After all I give him plenty of freedom whilst he's out shopping for us. He is allowed to visit the pub one Friday in four and has a break from doing the housework on a Sunday. What more could a man want I ask you. After all he did promise to honour and obey me.In return he has kept me well provided for. He jumps when I speak and cooks my meals rather deliciously as a good husband should. So the question you kind, patient unwashed lot is this: Should I bring him with me on our annual holiday? I have decided on a Mediterranean cruise-but could go on a more luxurious cruise to the Caribbean if I leave Boris behind. I've always wanted to visit those lovely Caribbean islands. I'm sure Boris would understand and be pleased for me. He could visit his sister in Blackpool where she runs a nice posh pub "The snivelling ferret." A break from me would do him good don't you think dears?
Darling Doris, please, send Boris my way.......restless man that he is........I could take him for a ride......while you relax and enjoy your cruise darlin.....:)
kisseses.....Lady Tory

First of all, there are many great online resources to help you book a cruise. I used a combination of Priceline.com and CruiseCompete.com. CruiseCompete was introduced to me in an excellent ebook. I got the cheapest prices available for what we wanted. Search around to find what fits into your parameters.
Surprising things I've learned about booking and planning for a cruise:
1) Cruises won't allow pregnant women to cruise after their 24th week of pregnancy. Some do not even allow you to start your 24th week while on board. This affected me because I am pregnant, but was able to get on a cruise during my 20th week. You'll need a physician's permission slip (I felt like a young student again!) that will need to be submitted no later than 7 days prior to embarkation (launch date). Why 24 weeks? I asked a doctor friend and she said that a baby born after the 24th week has a chance of survival, whereas before 24 weeks they really don't. Cruise ships don't have the medical facility to deal with such an emergency.
2) Cruise companies make you print your own boarding pass, travel documents, and luggage tags. Make sure you have a functioning printer or know someone who does. If you go through a travel agent, they can print these for you. These documents will also allow you to pass through the port's security station to get to your dock.
3) Make sure you have a current passport. Remember these can take several months to get, unless you want to pay a lot for expediting the process.
4) You have to plan your flights around their guidelines listed on the cruise websites. You should arrive several hours before embarkation. Most cruise lines require that you be at port an hour before the boat leaves. Give yourself about 5-6 hours after disembarkation (returning to port) until your plane leaves. Factor in travel time to and from the port from the airport as well.
5) Carnival, and I suspect others do to, require that all passengers fill out a long worksheet about our flights, our passport numbers, ages, etc. This is filed with the government. I guess they want to know if we are terrorists. It's good that they are thorough.
Even though I did not ultimately book my cruise through CruiseCompete.com, they were gracious enough to email me some useful articles about packing lists, saving money on board, and how people at home can contact the ship in emergency. That was nice of them!
If you're like me you'll be pretty surprised by the prep work that goes into planning a cruise. However, you'll probably be very excited about your vacation so it won't be so bad, and the leg work won't take too long to complete.
Where to go for a vacation with hubby before i have my baby?
am in my 2nd trimester(17 Weeks) and i want to plan a big vacation for my husband and i before we have the baby, since it will no longer be just the 2 of us. I want to stay either in the us or a Caribbean island. Any Suggestions

When most people plan their vacation they usually just look forward to where they're going to end up. Whatever gets them there is just another mode of transportation.
However, in the case of freighter cruises, the trip itself can be a thrilling and memorable experience.
Part of the romance of taking freighter cruises is that you'll usually be at sea for extended periods of time. If you enjoy the smell of the ocean, the often gentle pitch and roll of the waves, and gazing out towards the vast blue horizon during the day - and star filled skies at night - freighter cruises could be for you.
Accommodations on board freighter cruises.
The cabins of freighter cruises tend to be outstanding because they were designed for the ship's officers and members of the shipping company.
Typically they are very well furnished.
You'll have plenty of time to get to know your fellow travelers because you'll be aboard a working ship rather than a hotel on water.
And since there's rarely any entertainment, other than DVDs and conversation, you'll probably want to bring along at least a good book or two.
Of course you'll go ashore when you arrive at port. But because these are working vessels the time between ports is usually greater than it is on the more traditional cruises that people usually think of.
However, freighter cruises can be a lot more affordable, they can take you to far away ports, and they will give you a taste of another way of life. It's an adventure that will give you a lifetime of memories.
What exactly are freighter ships?
Freighter ships, sometimes called tramp freighters or tramp vessels, transport goods from one country to another. You'll find freighter ships and - therefore freighter cruises - in nearly every major port in the world.
What's the difference between freighter ships and tramp freighters?
Both regular freighter cruises and tramp cruises tend to last between 40 to 50 days, though the shortest voyage is about a week.
However, while both tramp freighters and regular freighter ships often provide freighter cruises, tramp freighters don't have standard routes or schedules. Freighter ships do.
Typically tramp freighters stay in port longer and leave more quickly than freighter ships.
The challenge of taking a freighter cruise aboard tramp vessels is that by their very nature planning in advance is far less possible.

What is the best cruise line you have been on?
I would like to know how nice the ship is......
I have been on the Royal Caribbean the ship is called the voyagers of the seas if i spelled that correctly
Royal Caribbean is my favorite line and I have been on two of the ships,
Sovereign of the Seas - twice - and Grandeur of the Seas once. Have
another cruise booked on Grandeur. The newer ships from Royal are
actually much larger but I like Royal Caribbean. I have been on the
Disney Wonder and it is nice, but overall I prefer RCL over Carnival,
Disney, and Premier (no longer in operation). If you are wanting to go
on another cruise, try the Freedom of the Seas - the largest at this time.

Unmistakably Floridian yet charmingly different from most other beach destinations found in the Sunshine State, Sanibel Island is known for stupendous sea shells and so much more. If you've been meaning to hole up in cottage somewhere on this friendly peninsula for a few days, focus your attention here and you won't regret it.
Sanibel Island is in southwest Florida to be exact, and its unique orientation makes it perfect for scooping up all the shells in the area. Everywhere you walk you'll find the finest specimens the ocean has to offer, so train your eyes on the shoreline, the sandy strips, and the parking lots, for that matter, because you never know where you'll uncover a stunning seashell to remember your trip by.
The best place of all to find a basket full of conchs or scallops would be right outside your back door, the back door of your charming vacation condo, that is. There are dozens of properties in Sanibel Island that would make even the most jaded vacationer's knees weak, including many that are right along that magical place where the ocean meets the sand. Nothing beats having a backyard filled with sand, wildlife, and breaking waves, so if you have a strong desire for some quality ocean time be sure to check out these privileged properties.
Excellent weather all year round will ensure that no matter when you are able to break away from work or school you'll be greeted with pleasant breezes and sunny days. Also, if you're flexible, you can start looking for the perfect vacation rental now and hold out for a special deal. Everyone loves a bargain, and even properties by the sea go on sale every now and again.
If you're bringing the kids along for this one, look into renting some bikes and exploring the island that way. Paved paths will take you anywhere you want to go, including past popular hangouts for birds, rabbits, and even alligators. Watch for regal herons and egrets as they search for their dinner, and feel the goose bumps rise on your arms when you catch a glimpse of a long brown snout cruising through the marshy waters. The gators pose no danger to you, but don't be surprised if you find yourself pedaling a little bit faster after visualizing the rest of this predator's physique.
After a day of active sightseeing, make yourself at home in your condo or villa. A comfy sofa will ease your nap attack, the patio is perfect for reading your book, and the hot tub will encourage tired muscles to totally de-stress. Have a snack by the pool or a cocktail on the lanai and take the chance to chat with your loved ones. A game closet will further bring everyone together over cards or a board game. All in all, you'll certainly have plenty to do as you reconnect with the people you value most and collectively recharge your batteries.
Many Sanibel Island vacation rentals are pet-friendly, so calm your fear of dog kennels and invite your furry friend along. Special needs of all kinds, from wheelchairs to baby gear, can often be accommodated in rental properties, so check things out beforehand and ensure that you'll be set up for success.
Does all of this sound too good to be true? If you think so, you must be pretty overworked. All the more reason to head out on your vacation as soon as possible, before you become even more cynical about what to expect when you pack up your bags and leave town.
Start researching Sanibel vacation home rentals today in order to have the largest variety to choose from. Your upcoming holiday is sure to be a hit, and you'll only have yourself to thank and reward.

Own Breakers Villa in St. Croix, USVI...Asking price $875000
Cardiff comes as a pleasant surprise to people who don't know what to expect on a visit to Wales' Capital city. There are those that think that there are coal mines at the end of the main street, and that the miners come out of the pithead baths on a Friday night singing 'Bread of Heaven'!
But in fact, if Cardiff does not fit the profile of a typical Welsh town, it does not mean that it lacks a Welsh identity. Far from it. Cardiff has a character all of its own which has developed apace since Devolution, and it now lies at the heart of 'Cool Cymru', as befits the youngest capital city in Europe.
Perhaps it's good to start in the Bay, where the first phase of regeneration of what was the old Tiger Bay took place, much to the regret of some of the original inhabitants, it has to be said. The old houses were demolished to make way for luxury apartments and smart shops and restaurants. But not everything old was lost. The Norwegian Church, where Roald Dahl was baptised, still stands and is now used as an Arts centre and conference venue. The Pierhead Building, built in 1897 as the headquarters of the Bute Dock Company, is now the Visitor Centre for the Welsh Assembly.
Cardiff has gained a reputation for staging great outdoor events, and many of them take place here in the Bay. Check out the Big Weekend for example! There is a wide ethnic mix in the city, and celebrations reflect this diversity - for example, the Caribbean MAS Festival, with its colourful floats and steel drums, or the Chinese New Year celebrations, with fireworks and dancing dragons.
Cardiff is proud of her Maritime history. The Docks were built by the third Marquess of Bute in order to export coal all over world. But that was not the only legacy that the Butes left the city. Cardiff Castle is a magnificent work of medieval and Roman ruins transformed by the vision of William Burges into Gothic fantasy set in the beautiful grounds of Bute Park, complete with peacocks! Indeed, Cardiff is surrounded by greenery, another Bute legacy. You can walk or cycle for miles along the Taff Trail through parks, woodland and open space.
Cardiff is currently undergoing a major transformation, with the building of the St.David's Shopping Centre, phase 2. The largest department store in Wales has recently opened. John Lewis forms the cornerstone of the new development -well worth a visit! There are the usual high street stores for retail therapy, but for a different shopping experience, visit the famous Arcades, built in the Victorian era in response to the vagaries of the Welsh climate! The shops within are known for being individual and eclectic, with boutique shops next to antiques. There are coffee shops, fancy dress shops, music shops and book shops. You can even buy a Welsh Cilt (note the spelling) in your family tartan complete with a dragon sporran!
Perhaps the most impressive sight for visitors is the Civic Centre. Built in Portland stone, there is City Hall, the Law Courts, the National Museum of Wales, and several buildings which make up the University of Wales, Cardiff.
The Millennium Stadium is well known for sporting events, especially rugby. If it's football you want, visit Ninian Park's new stadium.
There are many places of interest just outside the city. Llandaff is noted for its Cathedral, with the famous statue of Christ in Majesty carved by Jacob Epstein. The outside walls have carved heads featuring every king and queen of Britain, and legend has it that the Cathedral would fall when Edward VIII's portrait was added. True or not, the fact remains that the Cathedral was almost destroyed by bombing during the Second World War, but it would be hard to see now where the restoration work was added.
I would also recommend a visit to the Museum of Welsh Life, where many buildings from all over Wales have been moved to the site and lovingly reconstructed to make an open-air museum that is a great favourite especially with families. You can buy freshly-baked bread from the 'popty' or bakery, or have tea in the Gwalia Stores Tearooms. There are cottages, a schoolroom, a post office, even a postwar prefab bungalow complete with Utility furniture and an early MFI kitchen! You can watch various crafts being worked from woodturning to weaving, with finished goods being sold in the shop. Autumn is a good time to visit as the cottages and farmhouses all have fires lit in them, and as it gets darker you can smell the woodsmoke and see what it must have been like in the old days, with the only light coming from the fires and candlelight.
Cardiff has built a reputation for fine dining too. There is a wide range of eating options, from family-friendly restaurants to first-class places with gourmet menus. The Welsh are known for their love of tea and cake, although these days it is just as likely to be coffee and a low-fat muffin!
Cardiff is a great place to visit and has a lot to offer, even if you don't see any coalmines!

Nice islands/resorts in the Caribbean?
We want to go to somewhere in the Caribbean during spring break. What islands/resorts/villas do you recommend? They need to be fit for family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenagers). A nice luxurious resort with fun activities is preferred. Not the Bahamas, Jamaica, or the Cayman Islands since we've already been there. I've looked at Ritz Carlton-type resorts in Aruba and Virgin Islands. Any other suggestions?
I would go to the U.S. Virgin Islands. it has the best of both worlds. the standards are higher because it falls under the the U.S. Also the money is the same no currency exchange to worry about. The islands are great if you enjoy water sports for scuba, snorkeling, fishing, water skiing etc. both ST. Croix and ST. Thomas are great. ST. Thomas is known for it's duty free shopping. you can also consider a home to rent. Come and discover more tips on my safe and easy to use site. And check out more options like the homes you can rent with vacation rentals
thanks Caribbean Fred
Cleveland is a very affordable city to live fabulously in. You just have to know where the deals are, and plan your week accordingly. I have lived in a downtown Cleveland apartment for over three years now, and I know all the tricks!
Food:
Sushi Rock is one of Cleveland's most popular downtown restaurants. It has great atmosphere, martinis, and of course raw fish! The only problem is it can get a little pricey, except every Wednesday when it is half price sushi night. All of the six piece rolls are half price from 5 to 9pm. The only thing you must remember is; make a reservation by Monday or you will be eating dinner at 9:00pm. The number to make a reservation is (216) 623-1212.
The East Fourth Street Neighborhood is one of the up and coming areas to live in downtown Cleveland. East Fourth street consist of four renovated buildings of apartment rental, 6 different restaurants, the house of blues, Pickwick and frolic, and a bowling alley! Living on this small street can get very expensive. The tasty Mexican restaurant, Zocalo has happy hour Monday-Friday from 2-7pm. During happy hour you can get the classic margarita for five dollars and free chips and salsa. Monday-Wednesday you can bowl at the corner alley for 4.25 and get 3 dollars off martinis, specialty drinks, and appetizers. Even Michael Symons restaurant Lola has lunch specials. You can enjoy a Chicken paillard salad for 12$ or my personal favorite the pressed turkey club for 9$. Google Lola Bistro for more lunch specials.
More Lunch ideas for under 10 dollars:

How would one go about making cute jewelry out of sea glass?
Okay, so last spring break, I went on a cruise in the Caribbean and got some pretty sea glass when we went to Barbados. I want to make some necklace pendants, rings or bracelets out of it. Can someone please tell me how I could do that, or direct me to a website that I can use to help me make it. I really would like to make them something special that is cute too! Help me!
I'm now thinking that I might want to make a picture frame too/instead. Help with that?
The Dominican Republic is located in the Caribbean, where sun, warm weather never faded away, and never goes out of style. They say that the Dominican Republic is one of the more prettier islands on the Caribbean, so what the heck not having your wedding there. I mean, for someone who lives in Canada who wants to be different, here is your chance. Get married in February, and wear a bikini doing it! With a wedding in the Dominican, all these ideas can become reality.
Dominican style wedding and below we have given you info on how things work and what applies:
The Dominican Republic is a fantastic backdrop for hosting your dream wedding celebration here. From the finest hotels on the Caribbean, to great restaurants, the Dominican is a resort country that has it all, and the capabilities of hosting your wedding as well. Through the aid of Babylon Productions Wedding Centre located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, you can have all the luxuries of a home-style wedding in the luxury and comfort of the Dominican heat and sun and warmth!
The Dominican Republic is also well known for its delicious food making for a great menu to server your guests. However, be cautious of what you serve your guests. You could very easily turn not only your wedding night sour however, turn the entire trip upside down by not making sure that your guests are able to eat anything and everything. There are a lot of people that are allergic to certain foods and with you being in an exotic country things can go wrong, make sure you find out what your guests can and cannot eat. The environment is different so be careful!
Having an exotic wedding calls for having an exotic location to you having host the party. Why not do it in your hotel or a hotel. Look, I am not saying that banquet halls are not great, and the Dominican has some great banquet facilities, however, a hotel is something that you are more accustomed to, is a place that you are staying at anyways, so why not just have your party there, you will have a good rapport built up with the hotel staff and with you traveling to an exotic country, Babylon Productions Wedding Centre located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada advises you to have your wedding in your hotel or a hotel in general.
Also, make a decision on having both photos and video shot at your wedding, with the scenery in the Dominican, capture as much of the country as you possibly can, you will be satisfied, believe me.
Recommendations for affordable destination all inclusive weddings?
Looking at the Caribbean or Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) area. I do not like Sandals Resorts something a little nicer, but affordable. I’ve noticed that most of the “all inclusive” resorts only offer wedding packages and do not have “a la carte” option. We do not need all the extra stuff that’s included in the packages (flowers etc) trying to keep the ceremony SIMPLE and affordable. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks! (January 2012)
Most of the all inclusive places like Sandals do weddings for free if you stay for at least a week. In most places like the DR Sandals is actually one of the nicer resorts.
One of the biggest expenses is airfare. The DR, Bahamas, and Jamaica are all affordable to get to, and have resorts for any budget. When you start to get further south, price increases by a lot.
Also, consider booking alternative lodging for your guests. Help them to find nearby hotels that might be more affordable than an all inclusive resorts, but give them the option for either.

what is a better place to vacation Bahamass or Caribbean?
so we have a 2 families 4 adults and 4 children we want a place with great sports and great beaches + we are going on a cruise which one is better?
The Bahamas are in the Caribbean. I went on a carnival cruise (the Imagination) out of Miami that went to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau all in the Bahamas. All islands had amazing beaches. Carnival had so much to do for everyone at all times. They would have all sorts of contests on the beaches when in port sand castle, relays stuff like that if you weren't doing the excursions. Carnival is the "fun" ship and it really is. So many things for everyone to do of any age all the time. Waterslides, mini golf, gym, spa, adults only deck, clubs, piano bars, live music...and so much more.
Check out my photos to give you an idea of what those islands are like and also what the ship I went on was like. Feel free to contact me with any other ?'s you may have.
