Should I Book my February Vacation Now or "Last Minute"?

My girlfriend and I are looking to book a trip to Jamaica in February I've currently found a couple deals that saves us a couple hundred dollars by leaving on a specific date (if we leave on a Sunday we save $200+ over leaving on a Saturday or Monday?) Do I book this vacation now? If I book the same resort for mid January I could save even more (another $200). Is this because I'm booking "Last Minute" or is this because of the season? Is January generally a slow month for Caribbean all inclusive resorts?

Any input on this would be great! Thanks in advance.

Book it now as that airfare may not be available later

older 20 somethings, early 30s.....please answer this....?

My sons are this age, and will be looking for a winter vacation with sun and fun nights most importantly. They'll have girlfriends... They also like snorkeling and surfing. Where's the best spot near the U.S., like Caribbean, Mexico, Florida, possibly Hawaii or Cali.

Please tell me about sunny locations only. Let me know if you've been there yourself or heard about it from some one else. If you've been there....what shouldn't they miss doing?

Thanks in advance for all answers, and I'll get back with my best answer soon. :)

I certainly believe Hawaii is the best bet for everything you are looking for.
English speaking, warm days and nights, wide range of activities, extremely safe surroundings (that doesn't mean it's crime free, and you should be careless - but certainly lower crime than many tourist spots)

I live in Hawaii - we have some of the best beaches in the world, we have Haunauma Bay for snorkeling, we have Waikiki for novice surfers, we have a wide range of hotels and condos, and a great deal of air service.

BEST Caribbean Vacation spots....?

Can I have some ideas as to where a couple in their mid twenties should go on a vacation? We aren't married, both 24 and want to take a vacation together. Somewhere fun and beautiful at the same time... any ideas would help... Thanks so much

Barbados

Information on Barbados

Barbados is a coral island, pushed out of sea by volcanic activity in a far away time. On the West Coast of Barbados, coral shore beaches of fine white sand stretch along a blue-green sea. Coral reefs fringe the Barbados shoreline to provide excellent snorkeling and Scuba Diving. Along the East Coast a lively surf is blown briskly by the strong and constant trade winds and the waves pound against a rocky shore. The constant breeze of the trade winds gives Barbados a mild and pleasant tropical climate.

When you visit Barbados, you will see it is mostly a flat coral island with excellent beaches, but there are rolling hills and many deep ridges and gullies, with an interesting distribution of flora and fauna. Within the Barbados coral core there is a vast array of caves and underground lakes which provide an excellent supply of drinking water that is amongst the purest in the world. Geologically Barbados is unique, being actually two land masses that merged together over the years. This and other anomalies make this Caribbean Island quite phenomenal, and there are geological structures that you will find only in Barbados.

Barbados is a very beautiful island, with lots of art, activities, night life, music, history and some of the best restaurants to be found anywhere. But what makes Barbados even more special, and the reason why so many visitors keep returning to the island year after year, is the people. Barbadians, called Bajans, are warm and friendly souls, always ready to greet you with a sincere smile. Barbadians make you feel welcome and special, in this lovely Caribbean Island. You will feel its your home and will want to come back again and again to Barbados: A unique Caribbean paradise, surprisingly sophisticated, friendly, fun and always Naturally Charming!

You should also take a trip to a popular fishing village (Oistins) on a Friday night where you can get some grill fish, grill potatoes and tartar sauce. Afterward, you can go and see the locals and visitors dancing in the open air to some vintage oldies.

Which of these places should we go on our honeymoon?

We're meeting with a travel agent next week to start planning our July 2010 honeymoon. We want somewhere in the Caribbean so we were thinking either Jamaica, Antigua, Cayman Islands or the Bahamas. Has anyone had any experience with any of these places or is there anywhere else in the Caribbean you would suggest? Thanks!

I have been to the Bahamas and it was in July.
Been to Jamaica.

July -It was so ghastly miserable.
Temp 99 Humidity 99 % Water temp was so hot it didnt even cool you off. Beautiful tho ! Water is very clear and blue.

Bahamas and Jamaica are slums, except for the tourist area.
Because they are, the locals continually hounding you to buy things, or have your hair braided. I got so I laid on the beach face down so no one would bother me.

The hotel area was beautiful too, but you feel rather trapped in the tourist compound. You dont need a rental car..as you cant go anywhere.

Bahamas.. They added a tip on everything including a pick up pizza, to take back to the hotel.
OH and at that time ( 2002) it seemed everything was $3.00
Can of pop $3.00 If you want a 6 pack. Still $3.00 per can = $18

I still enjoyed myself.
I won this trip in a radio giveaway , so I cant complain too much.

I know you wont since its your honeymoon, but dont skimp on the hotel. This is a place you dont want to "go cheap" or it might be a real bad experience. Go at least with a holiday inn on up.
I suggest sticking to a chain hotel..not Rastasafari Inn etc.
Because its very tropical..bugs can get enormous..so you want a quality place.

I'm looking for a GREAT vacation for 2, warm weather, low key, upscale, lots of water(ocean a must) Any ideas?

Also thinking of staying in Mexico or taking a cruise to any part of the caribbean. Looking to spend approx 3,000. Need info on hotels or cruise lines that were exceptional in your eyes, thanks!!
I've been to Hawaii, not looking to go there again. Want something a little more exotic and possibly romantic. Not really into hiking and out-doors, just want to relax in the sun and have some drinks.

tybee island in Georgia its in Savannah there is always something to do there and the prices arnt to high. i love it because its not very crowded and there is a small town right on the river that is open all night its so beutiful you see right were the river runs into the ocean. they have river boat rides etc.. my husband and i went there on our honey moon for 3 days and only spent $200
