Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines have the specialty of catering to all kinds of people belonging to every age group. They have a fleet of 21 ships going to over 170 destinations worldwide. It would be impossible to be on board a Royal Caribbean cruise ship and not be entertained. These ships offer all kinds of fun stuff including rock-climbing, wave pools, boxing arenas, and stuff designed for families like mini-golf courses. For couples, they offer romantic dinners and spa facilities. All this just makes these cruises the best experience you would have ever dreamt of.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines are always trying to plan new ways to keep their customers happy, and this makes them the leaders of the cruise industry. They have subdivided their fleet into five sets of classes to choose from, so everyone would get exactly what they have in mind.

The Freedom class consists of Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas and Independence of the Seas. Freedom of the Seas is the biggest cruise ship of the world and has special features like the Flow-rider and the H2O zone specially added for kids. It also has a one of its kind 400-foot mall called the Royal Promenade. Guests would love this mall with the amazing shops and arenas. It also has pubs, bars and a café named Café Promenade.

The Voyager class has 4 ships including the third biggest cruise ship of all times. These ships feature all kinds of activities including mini-golf courses, skating rings, basketball courts and more than one pool. Of course, the night life is kept alive with the gleaming restaurants and bars.

The Radiance class is specially designed with a more environmental-friendly gas powered engines. They come with grand public rooms and have the beautiful glass exterior viewing elevators. The dining rooms are constructed with glass and have a great view. You also get to play on the self-leveling billiard tables.

The Vision class consists of 6 ships that have been joined into 3 pairs of sister ships. These ships are famous for their extensive glass construction. Enchantment of the Seas was renovated in 2004, and a new section was built that now holds suspension bridges and a beautiful pool. This area also includes specialty restaurants that offer food from all around the world.

The Sovereign class is more known to be the pioneers of mega ships that set the standards the cruise industry follows today. This class includes the Monarch of the Seas and Majesty of the Seas. These ships were the first ones to ever have an open atrium area. These ships are grand with big pools, bars with specious lounges, and theatres with large seating capacity.

Having to choose from so many different classes is just to give the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines an idea of what you are looking for. The real experience would begin after you have boarded one of the ships and it shall be mind blowing in all the right aspects.

Alaska cruise on Royal Caribbean?

My husband and I are going in June on a 10 day cruise tour. I am concerned about the amount of clothes to take and what to pack. We have land excursions at every stop. Is it to cold to lay out do I take a swim suit??? We are in our eary 40's and everyone keeps telling us we will be bored because RC caters to the elderly crowd. If there is anyone out that can give me a run down on their personal experience I would greatly appreciate it. God Bless.

I have been to Alaska twice, once in June and then on a cruise inside passage and land tour in May. What you need to pack is not that much different from any other cruise or trip. The weather in Alaska on land can be very pleasant; maybe in the 70's during the day, in June. It will likely be rainy in a couple of your port stops like Juneau and Ketchkan. Not a downpour but like showers.

It will be pleasant on ship while you are in inside area but breezy and chilly on open decks. When you get near the icebergs and glaciers it will be cold. And I mean like hat, coat and gloves cold. But the way to dress is layer your clothes so you will be warm enough when its cold but not too hot when you are in warmer areas. Instead of a ski jacket, take a lighter one that you can wear comfortably over a sweater or hoodie. Take some long sleeved shirts and slacks. Take a cap or hat and even gloves. Think underclothes, shirt, sweater, jacket for your dress each day.

Most ships that do the Alaska cruises have areas where you can see things without being outside. If you are going on RC's Radiance of the Seas I have been on that ship and you'll have plenty of places to see the sights without being outside. Ships generally have a solarium, a glass covered pool and hot tub area; I know the Radiance does. And of course the ship will have a gym. So you can take things to enjoy these activities on ship.

The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM. So take:
- swim wear,
-sun glasses and sun screen, lotions,
-a warmup suit or sweats to relax on ship in,
- a hoodie and a jacket that you can wear over it,
- a hat and gloves for when you get near the glaciers and ice fields,
- a rain poncho because it will likely rain in Ketchakan and/or Juneau,
-a book if you are a reader,
-your music player,
-sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym, -good walking shoes,
-your camera, its charger or extra batteries and binoculars,
-other personal toiletries.

Your cabin will have towels and soap provided, including pool towels. It will also have a generic hair shampoo so you do not need to bring that unless you like a specific brand. They do not provide tooth paste, mouth wash or lotions. They DO provide a hair dryer.

After 6:00 PM they request that you wear "sports or resort casual" attire. That's attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, (like a bank employee), shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc. You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, bars, casino, etc. Don't over pack , take clothes that you can mix and match tops and bottoms and plan to wear each piece twice. RC does have laundry service for a fee.

Your cruise will have a formal night when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the ship’s Captain. The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire. You will not be denied entry to the main dining room or any other venue if you decide not to dress up, as long as you are at least sports casual. But most people do dress up; a suit or tux for men and a gown or party dress for women. Women should take a shawl or other wrap for the formal dress.

Some other packing tips:

- Its best to pack using soft-sided luggage because with space limited in your cabin it fits under the beds better if its not hard sided luggage.

-Take a small carry-on bag for the last night of the cruise. On the last evening you will be required to put your luggage outside your cabin by about 2:00 AM so that they can start taking it down to the lower deck for offloading the next morning. So you will need a small bag for your toiletries and your clothes that you sleep in.

- If you are taking your cell phone, MP3 player or other item that needs to be plugged in take an extension cord as the plugs in the cabin are generally not in the best places and there are usually only one or two.

- Take a small bottle of hand sanitizer and/or hand wipes. There are generally sanitizer dispensers at the entrances of restaurants, the buffets and dining room, but some times the are not there or not working. The sanitizer helps prevent the spread of the Norwalk Virus that sometimes occur on cruise ships.

- Take a can of air freshener for your cabin bathroom; it has no exhaust fan.

Royal Caribbean is one of a couple of cruise lines that cater to young people and families. So there will NOT be a ship full of senior citizens; they will be on a Holland America ship somewhere. There will be plenty of activities and fun for you.

Despite the brochure's claims, most cruises are not all-inclusive. So, as a responsible traveler, you need to set a budget that goes beyond your basic cost of passage. The question is, what are those extra costs?

To learn about the additional expenses that come along with a cruise vacation, keep reading to find out how you can budget for shore excursions, alcoholic beverages, service tips, rounds of golf and much-deserved spa treatments.

Shore Excursions

Typically, most cruises do not include the price of shore excursions. When budgeting for your cruise, add several hundred dollars to participate in popular shore activities like scuba diving, guided town tours, paragliding, sea kayaking, golf and more.

Typically, you can go online or refer to the cruise line's brochure to get an idea of the shore excursions available on your trip and how much they cost. Often, you can book your shore trips in advance of the your time at sea, but try to set a bit of your budget aside for the whimsy - you may decide halfway through your cruise that, yes, you do want to try horseback riding after all.

Drinks and snacks

Check in advance what your cruise does and does not include in "all-inclusive." Typically, meals are included but not specialty drinks or snacks.

Again, every cruise line is different, with some offering assigned and monitored dining while others include 24-hour buffets and alcoholic beverages.

Tips

If you're unsure of whom to tip and how much, then simply call the cruise line and ask them what's expected of passengers. On most ships the steward or cruise director will make announcements about tips, including tip etiquette.

Typically, you'll be able to include a tip when signing a bill for drinks or service. You're also able to include a service tip either as a flat day fee on top of your on-board account or at the end of the cruise in the form of cash in an envelope, given to either your steward or cruise director. The latter method is less frequent. The average amount is about $10-$15 per day per passenger, but that can depend on the ship and level of service.

Extra Activities like Golf and Spas

Cruise ships are becoming more elaborate, including new amenities like driving ranges and spa facilities. When budgeting for a cruise vacation, set some money aside for extras like a facial or a bucket of balls at the driving range.

And while you're considering extra activities on-board the ship, remember that you want to work within your budget, but you also don't want to deprive yourself.

What are the best shore excursions in Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan, Mexico?

We are going on a Royal caribbean cruise in late June with our two children 14 and 18. We want to know what the best shore excursions would be. Like to try something fun and new.

That's a really hard question. What is "best" to you guys might be completely different. How athletic are you?

You are on Mariner of the Seas. I think in Cabos the Regatta sounds amazing. That's not offered many places.

I know when I was 14 I would have LOVED horseback riding. That would have been my favorite shore excursion.

The ATV tours are always interesting. Baja ATV. Most people come back from those covered in mud head to toe. While that is a bit too much for me, the people come back thrilled talking about how much they love it.

I personally love the zipline. There is one in Hawaii that is on my MUST list even though I've done ziplines several times. They are amazing.

Both excursions have a horseback riding and both have a zipline. For me I want to find shore excursions that I can't do elsewhere. I avoid all Beach Breaks and things. It's so boring and for the money, you should have taken a cab to the beach. Usually the beach tours and shopping tours are some of the worst ones. I'd get your kids opinion. At those ages, something could be super cool or horrible and honestly it's not worth $100 for something they are thinking is the most boring horrible excursion ever.

But pay attention to the activity scale. I love the active ones. And every time someone signs up who can't keep up and they have a miserable time. If your 14 year old is very overweight, it's horrible if she can't ride a horse b/c she exceeds the weight limit.

I've heard people enjoy the jeep rides but to me, I own a jeep. If I want to do that, I'm not going to do it from the cruise line. I'd rather do something I can't do other places.

Enjoy but only you know what energy level you and your family have.

Any time of year is great for a tropical vacation, especially if you're like me and you live somewhere where skies can be gray for months at a time, but the winter is an especially fine time to take a cruise somewhere tropical.

But where should you go?

Let's take a look at some popular (and some not-so-popular; read: not crowded) tropical vacation destinations that can be reached via cruise ship. (I love talking about cruises, because it's really easy to find some awesome last minute deals, so you don't necessarily have to have been planning your tropical vacation for months.)

In no particular order, here are five great cruise destinations where you're sure to find fun in the sun:

1. Hawaii

Long popular with west coast dwellers from the United States, the Hawaiian Islands are now the feature of plenty of cruises. You can sail with Norwegian Cruise Line on an island hopping ship that starts in Honolulu and stops at four or more islands (something that is cumbersome to do if you fly), or you can book with another cruise line for a trip that starts in Mexico or British Columbia and includes a long, relaxing trip across the Pacific ocean in order to reach Hawaii. (The cruises that start in Hawaii are usually about a week, whereas the ones that start on the mainland may be up to two weeks.)

2. The Caribbean

The Caribbean is the most popular cruise destination, and it's a great choice for U.S. east coasters or people who live in the South. If the idea of a flight across the Atlantic doesn't faze you, there's no reason you couldn't visit from Europe or another destination either.

The sun, the islands, the variety of cultures and countries, and the chance to see ruins of ancient civilizations (choose a western Caribbean cruise that visits Cozumel in Mexico for this) makes this tropical area quite popular with vacation-goes from around the world.

3. The South Pacific

Tahiti and the rest of the French Polynesian islands make for a wonderful cruise destination. Expect beautiful sandy beaches, warm sunny days, and balmy evenings perfect for stargazing.

Much of what makes Hawaii such a popular destination applies down here too but the fact that it's a longer flight for most means you'll find fewer crowds here than in Hawaii or the Caribbean. For many, this is much of what makes the South Pacific paradise. Here, you'll truly be able to relax and enjoy the tropical climate in peace.

4. The Mexican Riviera

The Mexican Riviera refers to the cities and resorts on the west coast of Mexico, and the warm sunny weather here is helping make it another popular cruise destination. With ships leaving from ports in California, west coasters may even be able to take a trip without stepping aboard on airplane.

Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta are examples of cities in this zone that you may have heard of. There's plenty of fun in the sun to be had with shore excursions that range from snorkeling and scuba diving to rafting and wildlife viewing.

5. The Nile River

If you'd rather sail up a river than through the sea, a cruise up the Nile may be a perfect vacation for you. Again, you'll have access to that glorious warm weather, and you'll also be able to experience ancient history.

A Nile cruise is a perfect way to visit the temples and tombs located along Egypt's stretch of the river, and you'll feel like you've drifted back in time as you gaze upon the banks where people live in mudbrick homes, tending their crops with wooden plows, much the same way they did thousands of years ago. You'll be able to enjoy it all as you sit on a shaded deck of your "floating hotel" and sip the chilled beverage of your choice.

There you have it: five great cruise destinations you can visit in order to escape the rain and snow and gloom of winter. Enjoy the sun, and send me a postcard!

Going on a Cruise? One week Sunday!!!?

I am going on a cruise on the Royal Caribbean International(RCI) ship Mariner of the Seas for the second time (1st time to Eastern Caribbean, this time Western) and I am sooo excited! But this time I want to spend more time exploring the ship because last time I basically stayed in the pool. I think I missed out on a lot doing that! I know they have a lot to offer but what do the experienced people suggest for teens onboard, because we will be doing shore excursions.

Since you have cruised before on this particular ship, you are already familiar with its basic layout, and know that every staircase has a ship map.

That said, and to answer your question, I would just suggest that you start each day during breakfast reviewing the tiny pocket-sized map available at the purser's desk and pick something to explore on each level of the ship every day.

Eat in different restaurants, and try new things on the menu every day.

Since you'll be participating in excursions while in port, just make your plan to do something new and different all the time and to limit your pool time to not interfere with your explorations.

You can even ask someone at the Purser's desk if there are any tours of the ship (however limited they might be). Often times they conduct kitchen/galley tours and less frequently, the engine room. It's pretty fantastic, actually!

Nudism is believed to be an emerging social culture bereft of its earlier stigma and secrecy, and has come to stay as a lifestyle with many. In the recent past, all over the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean islands and elsewhere in the world too, various nudist clubs, nudist colonies and Nudist Resorts have come up. We can easily understand from this that an increasing number of people are getting comfortable with the idea of a nudist vacation, and that most of them are ready to experiment to enjoy an alternative lifestyle.

There is no need to go to the same old places when you want a vacation. The same people, the same places, the same activities are there. Try out something new and different instead. You can travel light as well (remember you don't need much of your clothes), and you can surely enjoy your nudist travel vacation.

If you want to see what true liberation and freedom feel like, then this is your opportunity. We all were born without clothes, and who knows, maybe nature meant us to stay that way. Often wearing all those outfits, we forget our true self. Not only do we judge people by their clothes, we also are not able to free our own selves from these artificial shackles imposed by society. On a nudist vacation, you will be able to find your true self as you get rid of all your inhibitions, and it all starts with getting rid of that unnecessary clothing.

In fact, there are many cases where a person who visited just casually got completely converted into a confirmed naturist. And you can meet many of them at these Nudist Resorts.

Of course, there are many people who feel a bit odd when they are exposed to nudism for the first time. But the initial awe passes away soon after a few interactions with the resident nudists of the colony, and you will find that these people do not just bare their bodies, but they also open up completely in front of you as clean souls. If you are one of those people who live in the city, then this will surely stun you because it is quite rare that someone can open up and bare all so easily.

You must remember a few things that are mentioned here when you are thinking of a Nakation or a naked vacation to any such community in the US, Mexico or Canada:

1. Visitors always have to come accompanied with a partner

2. Visitors should always come through some accredited agent, or it is even better to approach Nudist Escapes, an organization that does this work only

3. It is better for the visitors to find out a little about the principles of nudism, and the behavior patterns that are expected

4. There is no relationship between sex and nudity whatsoever - so never get mixed up about this

If you are still not sure about taking your clothes off, then perhaps you should visit the clothing optional resorts. You can also decide to spend just a day at the colony on your nudist travel vacation, instead of a whole week here. You can easily arrange to spend just a day at the nudist beaches or other nude resorts that are located throughout the US coastline or in the interiors. This would help you gain the required confidence.

So go ahead and try it once and see the difference. Nudist Resorts are sure to thrill you.

Any guide to living cheap in retirement should examine various lifestyles that are not only fun but frugal as well. If you have not thought of these lifestyles, all of which we have experienced firsthand in the last 15 years, perhaps you should. All offer ways for fun, cheap living.

1) Living aboard a sailboat...We did so for 8 years living on a sailboat in the Caribbean. It was an experience of a lifetime and a frugal one as well. Once in the islands we spent around $1,000 a month. Why so cheap? We anchored out most of the time...it was free...the views were fantastic...and there were no cash registers.

2) Living in an RV...During the summers when we were on the boat we came home (avoid hurricane season) and RVed around the US. We were scouting out places where we might want to live when we "settled down". Monthly rental in some real nice parks were around $450 a month. RVing is fun and cheap as well.

3) Living overseas...while on the boat we spent time on land in foreign countries...it was not only fun it was cheap. We found the foreign living to be safe, inexpensive and lots of fun. For instance 1 million Americans have now retired to Mexico, where $1500 to $2000 (less if you speak Spanish) will give you a grand lifestyle including domestic help. Ladies you may have ironed your last shirt in Mexico and other equally cheap countries.

4) Downsizing...I do not want to hear that you cannot possibly get by with less space. When we went from 1,800 square feet to about 50 square feet living aboard a sailboat it was eye-opening. Yes, you can easily go from a big home to a small apartment or condominium.

The guide to living cheap in retirement should explore all ways of conserving cash. Above are four ways we cut way back on spending and had fun as well. Check it out. Enjoy.

"I think the (natural) gas storage surplus is smoke-and-mirrors," said Phil Flynn, Energy Analyst for Alaron Trading Corporation in Chicago. "It masks an underlying problem with production." Mr. Flynn is not alone in his assessment of the natural gas market. Jim Cramer of The Street.com echoed similar thoughts. Flynn wrote in his Energy Report on Tuesday, "Lets face it the heat has melted away the veil of secrecy around the natural gas complex." The devastating U.S. heat wave has left its mark on North America's electricity grids, which has now reversed the downward trending price of natural gas.

The year-to-date bottom for September natural gas futures prices came on July 18th. A reversal came the following day and pricing has since climbed higher on (a) California's heat wave, (b) natural gas inventory drawdowns and (c) near-record high or record-high electricity usage in the eastern half of the United States and parts of Canada. Also on July 18th, we published our interview with Sprott Asset Management analyst Eric Nuttall, entitled, "Zero Doubt: Natural Gas Prices Will Go Higher Again." The markets are all about timing and the interview with a member of the Sprott Asset Management team again reminds us why they are amongst the most prescient (and successful) of North America's money managers.

Natural gas production is declining. "The demand for natural gas continues to rise and production is failing to keep pace," Flynn told us. "The storage surplus has given us a false sense of security." On July 10th, James Rogers told us, "Longer term, natural gas production is declining in North America. Eric Nuttall told us, "North American natural gas production has been in decline for several years."

Natural gas is the primary source for electricity generation. Record humidity and temperatures drive consumers to run their air conditioners on higher settings and for longer periods. In one Reuters news agency report, Ohio dairy farmers were reportedly air-conditioning their cows to keep them alive. Another heat wave passing through the United States might seriously jeopardize the country's power grid.

The New York Times reported this past Wednesday, "Experts say demand is rising faster than the ability to meet it, which over the long run could pose the risk of both local and regional failures." Three system operators, managing regional grids for the some of the worst-hit states, said demand for electricity set new records which eclipsed records set only two weeks earlier.

The Cape Verde Hurricane Season

Experts have begun calling this the 'Cape Verde Hurricane Season,' because multiple storm systems are moving westward from Africa through the Cape Verde Islands. Hurricane scientists from Europe and the United States are now in Africa studying the clusters of storms rolling off Africa's coast. Another team is in the Caribbean. Some of the thunderstorm clusters, called 'tropical waves,' which form between seven and ten times per month, develop into hurricanes. Of the 60 or 70 tropical waves passing over West Africa's Cape Verde Islands, about ten percent grow into tropical storms or hurricanes. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Miami, these African thunderstorms account for 85 percent of all major Atlantic hurricanes.

Offshore oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico, which accounts for about 25 percent of U.S. production, may be shut down again this summer. There could be several hurricanes expected in the Gulf of Mexico's hurricane season, which lasts through November 1st. Most of the devastating Atlantic hurricanes occur between mid August and early October because of the warmer water temperatures.

"Things are not back to normal in the Gulf of Mexico," said Flynn. "Gas storage is needed as a buffer against extreme weather." In this case, a hurricane or a series of hurricanes would be extreme weather. Flynn believes that despite ample storage the market is "easily given into the passions of weather extremes."

In our mid July interview with Sprott's Eric Nuttall, he leaned toward the camp which was bullish, saying, "Now is the time to load up on the (nat gas and CBM) stocks." He recommended some of his firm's favorites, which as he admitted at the time could trade sideways for the next two months. These included, among others, Crew Energy (TSX: CR), Canadian Spirit Resources (TSX: SPI) and Pacific Asia China Energy (TSX: PCE).

Nuttall believed there were significant opportunities in unconventional gas companies, known as coalbed methane (CBM) companies, as well as conventional gas shares. As Nuttall previously told us, "Most incremental production is coming from smaller, more expensive-to-drill, thinner economic, higher decline pools and reservoirs."

But, Nuttall cautioned, "Timing on any natural gas investment right now is tricky." And he added, "Although the market might be a bit sloppy for a few months, I think there are some great bargains to be had for the patient investor."

We pursued our July interviews on the subject of natural gas based upon a luncheon meeting we had in early June with Steven Mizener, chief equities strategist for the Toronto mutual fund company, Sentry Select. He advised patience in the natural gas markets and that by the end of August, natural gas stocks might again gain favor. Phil Flynn warned of stronger drawdowns this winter, "With a colder winter and heating usage for gas, there will be a lot more drawing (of the inventories). We could have a significant depletion in storage if we have a cold winter." Again, investors have been lulled by the 'false sense of security' of the perceived storage surplus. And as one wit remarked on the Motley Fool chat board, "With that inventory drawdown last week due to the heat, it appears that we may have seen the bottom in natural gas for some time to come."

What kind of career path can work if I move to an island?

I really enjoy island life and culture. It has something different from beach culture (like I experienced living in California and visiting Florida)

But what kind of careers (or types of self-employment) are ideal if you want to relocate to say, the Caribbean? I realize that like anywhere else, there is a need for every typical occupation...but are there any particular careers that relocating Americans find easier to transfer or that are more popular/in-demand in a location like this?

planning a tropical vaction?

Need some help. First off we want to go to one of the caribbean islands for sure. Were just un-sure of what one. We want an all inclusive resort (talking food, drinks included) Something for two adults and a toddle at the time. Any ideas of some beautiful places ... and some nice all inclusive resorts. Not really feeling the bahamas to much. I hear alot about it makes me think it will be over populated. We are going in Feb.

Go in the Philippines, it has plenty of best beaches in the world, with 7,107 islands.

Right from the beginning, I should make it clear that this is not an endorsement to skip international boundaries without the relevant paperwork; rather, it is an endeavour to bring to your attention a much overlooked corner of The UK – Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland is a jewel of a place; it has a rugged beauty, friendly people and a unique charm, going there is almost like stepping back 30 years into the past and remembering how England used to be – in more genteel times. Being part of the UK, no passport is needed and a short flight will see you safely landing at Belfast City Airport – a clean, modern and easy to traverse terminus.

A car can easily be hired from the rental desk in the exit lobby and collecting your vehicle is accomplished by walking 25 yards down the road from the airport building. As you leave Belfast you will go past the historic twin cranes of Harland and Wolfe, the shipbuilders that built the SS Titanic, and a tad further on, the majestic sight of Divis Mountain will be your farewell from the Belfast area.

Driving on now, through the heart of the province, we cross wild open moors interspersed by little else but the occasional distant croft, until we reach the town of Coleraine. Coleraine is a major university town straddling either side of the river Bann. Here we can halt for a well deserved meal and an impromptu tour of the town’s shops.

Onward though, along the coast road to Whiterocks Beach. Here the multiple hues of the azure sea offset the white sands that stretch out for miles. The coast is lined with limestone cliffs that over the centuries have been weathered into a magical labyrinth of arches, caves and headlands.

Old shipwrecks litter the waters around Whiterocks, testament to the maritime dangers that belie the areas’ natural beauty.

And now, an appointment with adventure at Carrick-a Rede island. To reach Carrick-a-Rede you must follow a cliff top path for about 20 minutes. From the path you can look down onto isolated coves and pristine beaches, accessible only to the seals that swim thereabouts or to the seabirds that the cliffs are home to.

At the end of the path is your goal, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, a very shaky 30m high rope and plank affair, which spans the 20m to Carrick Island. As you walk across the bridge, the entire structure undulates and a combination of this and the great height has caused many an intrepid tourist to turn back in fright. For those, however, that complete this exhilarating trial, a certificate of achievement is available at the exit.

I could take you onward, to ruined castles long abandoned and to traditional pubs with roaring fires, where locals improvise musical scores late into the night. The wonders of this magnificent land are without end. You have been regaled with only a minute taste of what is in store for visitors here, why not see for yourself, click here [http://www.superbreak.com/browse/location-NIR.htm] to take the first step of an unforgettable adventure – and unlike most journeys, should you forget your passport – no matter.

caribbean cruises hurricane season

caribbean cruises hurricane season

When it comes to cruising along the Eastern Caribbean seas, there are many choices, be they in the matter of cruise destinations, the kinds of packages on offer, and their durations. There are innumerable ports of call, encompassing all the major tourist hot spots, and also places that are off the beaten track. There are cruises to suit every pocket and there are cruises ranging from cozy weekend retreats to 10-15 day affairs.

An Eastern Caribbean cruise will take you to the American and British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, St. Martin, and the Bahamas. December to April is the peak tourist season, when tourists from all around the globe flock here. However, you will get the best bargains during the lean season, during the summer and fall months. But there is a catch to it. The hurricane season is from June to November, and it is wise to avoid these parts of the world at this time. You would definitely not want to be marooned in your hotel room with a storm raging outside.

For short cruises, you can opt for Carnival and Disney, whose ships ply the whole year round but travel only to the Bahamas, while Royal Caribbean's fleet has a three-night tour covering San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. However, the seven-night tours are the hugely popular ones. These will take you to Jost Van Dyke, San Juan, St. Martin, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Virgin Gorda. These are the traditional stops in a usual Eastern Caribbean cruise, but old-timers who would like to venture to offbeat places can opt for fleets that will ferry them to St. John, Norman Island and Water Island. The new kids on the block are Tortola and Dominican Republic with the upscale resort Caso de Campo. Rapidly finding favor with the tourists, these places are increasingly being covered by the cruise lines.

The Eastern Caribbean offers immense possibilities for exploration. The cruise lines, fuelled by tourist demand, are not averse to venturing into hitherto uncharted territories either. Thus, quaint, sleepy, tucked-away towns and villages are being unearthed and placed on the tourist map.

cruise weather???

Im going on a cruise the first week of Sept...to the Eastern caribbean. has anyone cruised to the eastern caribbean before dunring this time (hurricane season) how is it? does it rain a lot? are the seas rough...im starting to worry because i completely didnt think that this might be a bad time to cruise until some people started telling me so. any input?

That is peak hurricane season and you may also get rain. However, you don't need to worry about safety. The cruise lines use sophisticated weather info to avoid storms. You may miss a particular port due to weather. But you may get some free days at sea! That happened to us one September - we cruised off the coast of Cuba for two days and we wouldn't even have known there was a hurricane. [Well, not until we finally came into Ft Lauderdale - that was a bit bumpy!!]

You should make sure you have sea-sick medicine [benadryl or meclazine etc] if you think you'll be vulnerable to that, although the ship will have meds if you prove to need them and don't have them [will cost you, though].

You might want to take some type of guidebook with you, in case your ports get changed, so you'll know what you would want to do on the islands you are changed to.

Don't worry - you'll be fine!
