Spring break is the largest tourism event in Cancun every year. White sandy beaches, perfect spring break weather and vibrant nightclubs make Cancun a popular spring break destination. Spring break in Cancun draws over 200,000 college students and teenagers from all over the United States. While there are many places to stay in Cancun, not all hotels cater to the spring break crowd. With nearly a hundred affordable, student-friendly Cancun spring break hotels in the heart of the action, you'll find just what you're looking for. Cancun spring break hotels offer an excellent range of amenities and modern facilities to accommodate the increasing number of visitors during spring break. These hotels offer special drinks as well as contests and stage shows to keep the party going all night.
Cancun spring break hotels facing the lagoon are cheaper than those with an ocean view. Many of the students opt for the least expensive hotels across the beach. The good news for those opting for these hotels is that the hub of action is just a short walk or a bus ride away. While some demand to be right next to the clubs, others will settle for nothing less than the top all-inclusive resorts. All hotels charge a deposit per room in the form of credit card or cash. This deposit is refundable upon hotel checkout as long as there are no damages or missing items on or from the property.
Oasis Cancun, situated in the heart of the Hotel Zone, is the most preferred all-inclusive spring break hotel. This hotel is close to the nightclubs, bars, restaurants and shopping areas. Le Blanc, with 260 air-conditioned luxurious rooms with an ocean or lagoon view, is another popular choice. Gran Caribe Real Cancun is a grand option for the best all-inclusive, offering a lot more fun than you might imagine. Other popular choices for Cancun spring break hotels include Gran Costa Real, Hotel Plaza Caribe, Miramar Mision, Continental Villas Plaza, Carisa y Palma, Melia Turquesa, Dos Playas and CasaMagna Marriott.

Isla Mujeres - Cancun Mexico

With the end of the school year only a few months around the corner, parents and teachers alike are beginning to plan out their summer vacations while the kids are looking forward to a few months without homework. With our current economy in shambles it may not seem like the perfect time to think about a family getaway, but fortunately for consumers the tourism industry is hurting just as badly and some fantastic deals can be found for the inquisitive shopper. From staying close to home with quick weekend getaways to ten day cruises throughout the Caribbean, businesses are competing harder than ever to grab your business. This article will focus on vacations for budget minded families that would not otherwise get to go anywhere this summer.
The first sensible idea for families on a strict budget is to rediscover your own region of the country and all of the great attractions it has to offer. A great place to start is to Google your state's name plus the word "tourism," and you may be surprised on how much fun has been going on right under your nose. Overnight or one day getaways for outdoor activities like camping, white water rafting, horseback riding, canoeing, professional and semi pro sporting events, enjoying state parks, and simply embracing the outdoor weather that made you move to that region in the first place will create fond memories for everyone involved. There are also probably plenty of free concerts, street carnivals, museums, and other fun activities that the children would enjoy while getting away from home without dipping very far into your monthly budget, and in order to find them you simply have to look.
Another sensible idea is to hop in the family car and visit other nearby attractions en route to friends and family member's homes in different parts of the country. You'll be amazed how young you feel after visiting a former high school classmate or acquaintance from college, and much of the "entertainment" for the visit is reliving old memories and sharing stories of days past. The children are happy because there are new areas to explore and new friends to meet, while the parents relax on a very inexpensive vacation.
Yet another getaway plan would to be to hop on the internet and check out some of the vacation websites for last minute savings. For example, many of the hotels in Orlando around Disney World offer free or drastically reduced passes to area theme parks, which can convert a normally expensive family trip into a manageable one on the tightest of budgets. Before actually purchasing tickets for area attractions, check out what combo deals you can find and it is sometimes possible to save a small fortune. Likewise, if you know of an event or park that your family is definitely visiting, Google the name of the city before doing anything to see what local businesses and consumers have posted about savings while in the area...the results may surprise you.
There are nearly limitless getaways available on a strict family budget and the key is to jump on the internet to find the deals before they expire or end up completely booked for the summer. For more great ideas on money saving vacations, check your local newspapers or call your local tourism office directly.

Bermuda on a Budget

Gone are the days when cold-weather months were relegated to indoor activities. The recent trend for vacationers is to take off and go cruising during this particular season to experience milder climates. Companies are quick to take advantage of this by offering some of their best cruise deals during winter. With so many packages available, it is easy for a first-time traveler to get overwhelmed. Even those who have plenty of experience under their belts can be confused by the different options offered by travel companies. Fortunately, there is an easy method to finding the best winter cruise deals for a particular lifestyle.
Finalize your destination:
The first thing that you need to do is to figure out where you want to go. By simply answering this particular question, you immediately narrow down your choices to the ones that are most appealing for you. After all, it is your vacation so you should be given the privilege to pick which destinations you want to experience.
Aim for the tropics:
For most people, they want to escape the chill of the winter months by visiting beaches in a tropical area. Thus, the Bahamas and the Caribbean are ideal places to go during the winter months. Most companies recognize this trend and are very accommodating in offering cruise deals to these areas.
... but remember that the cheaper rates are found elsewhere:
Booking your vacation during the winter months can give you access to price rates that are not available at any other time of the year. A nine-day tour to the Caribbean can go for around 700 dollars. This is definitely a bargain for those who are looking for the best cruise deals during winter. On the other hand, you can forego the tropics and head to colder places like Alaska or Canada. They can be just as beautiful as the tropics and you can enjoy the sights are a cheaper rate. During winter, tours that pass thorough cold-weather countries are cheaper than those that head for the tropics.
Book very early or very late:
Another way to lower the price of your destination is to check the flexibility of your schedule. Most companies offer discounts for those who book early and even for those who book too late. By making your reservations during odd times, you can take advantage of early-bird discounts as well as slashed prices to fill out last-minute cancellations in a particular tour.
Choose a trip that gives you the freedom to choose:
Another option for winter travelers is the concept of freestyle cruising. As the name suggests, people are given the choice to choose their own adventure during their vacation. You can fix your own itinerary to cater to what you want to do. Meals can be served whenever you want and you can ever choose where to dine. Even the schedule of the disembarkation can be adjusted to your preference.
Most people who are looking for the best cruise deals prefer this option because as they can adjust the itinerary to suit a particular budget. But more than the price, what makes this a good bargain is that you are guaranteed that you will be able to do everything that you want and that there are no dead spots during your vacation. Ensuring that every moment is enjoyable is the key to having true value for your money.
You should check with companies that specialize in assembling vacation packages. There is no shortage of online sites that offer tours for those who are planning to take off for the winter. These industry experts often have access to the best rates in the market so it is a good idea to seek their counsel when looking for the best winter cruise deals.

how far ahead of time book an all inclusive vacation?
My girlfriend and I would like to book a 4 or 5 day all inclusive vacation in the caribbean for late January, early February. We are hoping to pay around $700. Should we book ASAP, or will prices get cheaper as we get closer (e.g., after Christmas)?
Thanks.
Hotels and resorts like to have a certain number of bookings in advance of any given day so usually have a few deals available. If you are flexible about the days you go you can get some great deals to the Dominican Republic on http://dominicanrepublichotelsandresorts.com/.

Tavel and Make Money with "Primo Vacations"!

It's not just the size and opulence of their sleek and stylish fleet that attracts passengers to Norwegian Cruise Line. Norwegian Cruise Line boasts the largest ratio of staff to passengers of any cruise company and this extra service shows from stem to stern. Every inch of every ship gleams and on any trip through the corridors you always meet friendly and courteous staff in perfectly appointed uniforms.
A particular cruise feature that Norwegian Cruise Lines introduced is free-style dining. Historically, shipboard dining has been a structured affair, with meals served at preset hours, usually with assigned seating in the dining room and a dress code. Free-style dining changes all of that to match the contemporary American lifestyle. Passengers may choose from eight to a dozen dining areas on board and eat when they wish. Some dining areas serve cafeteria-style, with food already prepared and jean-clad passengers taking a tray and selecting their food items. The main dining areas serve menu-based meals with full service wait staff and where jeans and shorts are prohibited at the evening meal. All food in the dining rooms and cafeteria is included in the price of the cruise.
And you get more than your money's worth in the quality and presentation of all food items. The average passenger gains seven pounds on a week-long cruise! In addition, Norwegian Cruise Line offers a selection of specialty or upscale restaurants on each ship and meals in these restaurants are offered at additional cost. For example, Asian, French, Japanese or Italian cuisine may be featured in a suitably decorated small restaurant. But know full well, the upscale restaurants excel in service and cuisine and provide value for the dollar for the more discriminating.
Food service is a major attraction on any cruise, but Norwegian Cruise Line also provides a full range of on-board activities 24 hours a day. A fully equipped fitness center attracts those who want to stay in shape on their vacation. The pool area is the hub of live entertainment day and evening. Ships have a number of bar, lounge and disco areas that come to life with talented performers every night. Also included in the price of the cruise is theatre entertainment that ranges from stand-up comedy to full show revues that rival those found in Las Vegas. And speaking of Las Vegas, while in international waters, passengers can enjoy all the amenities of a sparkling casino, including slots and gaming.
Norwegian Cruise Line, a premier cruise line, currently has ten large and modern ships in its fleet. The most luxurious ship in the fleet, the Norwegian Star, seasonally alternates on trips to Alaska during the summer season and cruises to the Mexican Riviera in the colder months. One of the newest ships, Norwegian Spirit, also sails to Alaska in the summer but crosses the Panama Canal to sail the Caribbean in the winter. The Norwegian Wind follows the whim of the wind and sails to many major destinations: Alaska, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, and the Caribbean while Norwegian Sun and Dream quietly cruise the Caribbean.
The brand new Pride of Aloha, as its name implies, is dedicated to custom cruises hopping between the islands of Hawaii. There is no better way to thoroughly tour Hawaii than on a cruise ship. Also brand new, Norwegian Dawn is dedicated to sailing from New York to ports in Florida and the Caribbean.
The newly renovated Norwegian Sea routinely sails from Houston, Texas through the Caribbean. A ship fit for royalty, the Norwegian Majesty, also sails through the Caribbean to ports of call in Mexico and the Bahamas.
The Norwegian Crown is nearly 20 years old but, with only 527 staterooms, provides a much more intimate atmosphere than the newer ships that accommodate nearly 2,000 passengers. Two more luxury ships will be added to the ever-expanding fleet in 2005. The soon to be introduced Norwegian Jewel will expand ports of call to Scandinavia, the French Riviera, and Italy.

What exactly is free on a cruise?
I am thinking about going on a royal caribbean cruise next march.
on the ship, what is free? what do you have to pay for? when i say that, i mean places such as restaurants and activities.
ben and jerry's or johnny rockets for example: pay for or free?
what about activities such as florider or boxing lessons
The basic cruise fare includes your room, meals in the regular dining rooms and buffets, room service, shows, and most ship facilities. Many ships also have free pizza, ice cream at various times, sushi, and hot dogs and hamburgers.
There are usually 3 choices for free dining. There is traditional dining where you are assigned a time and table for dining. They range from 2 to 10 seats and you have the same diners each time. There is anytime dining which allows you to go dine any time and you are seated with others dining at the same time. Both are held in large dining rooms with waiters. Then there is the buffet which is usually on the top deck. It is open to all and many people always use it for breakfast and lunch.
The extras are first tips. Figure about $10 per day per person for the tips to the room steward and wait staff. This is optional and some cruise lines automatically charge you. It can be adjusted or reversed at the end of the cruise. You should also tip a few dollars if you use room service. All bar drinks will have 15% added for a tip.
Many ships have alternate dining facilities that have a service charge of $15 on up. It may be a steak house or an Italian restaurant for example. There are also specialty coffee bars that have a charge. All bar drinks including sodas have a charge. The only free bar drinks are at the Captains Reception and the Repeat Cruiser Reception. Do not assume that the drinks being offered when you board are free. They are not. Bar drinks are $6 and up. Some ships are even charging for juice at any meal other than breakfast.
Some cruise lines sell a soda card for about $4 a day. It is only for fountain soda. Unless you have 3 sodas a day it is not worth it. You can also buy a specialty coffee card which gives you 15 for about the price of 12.
There is a charge for any personal service such as laundry, salons, private trainers, etc. Spa treatments are very expensive, $50-$100. There is also gambling which includes the casino, bingo ($10-$20 per session), and sometime deck games such as horse racing. A ship photographer will be taking pictures all over the ship and at special occasions. They cost over $10 each. Phone calls in the room are about $8 a minute. Some ships have cell phone service. You are charged for international roaming by your phone service at about $2.50 per minute. There is also a charge for using internet service on a ship but it is cheaper than phone calls.
Sundries are very expensive. Figure at least double the normal price. If you need a watch you will find no better prices anywhere. Many ships also sell works of art for lower prices than you will find in a gallery.
Off ship excursions are expensive. They start at about $30 and can be in the hundreds. You can book them on the ship or go on your own. The ship will not leave without you if a cruise excursion is late. With one you did on your own they will not wait.
In addition to these costs be sure to plan $1 a bag for porter service and over $10 a day for pier parking.

2009 Caribbean Cruise on "Voyager of the Seas"

My family and I have traveled often on Princess Cruises. I would definitely do another cruise with this line but others of my family have chosen to go elsewhere. I will present the pros and cons of this company and let you decide for yourself.
If you are going on a cruise for the food, Sabatinis is amazing. It is the upscale Italian restaurant that is aboard every Princess cruise. You do have to pay an extra $25 for the meal but you get unlimited portions of pastas, Lobster, dessert and more. The food is endless and the wines fairly reasonably priced. We usually end up dining here several times on each cruise.
The Steak house is also wonderful. Again you pay the fee but you get unlimited steak, lobster, desserts and more. You will need to be rolled out of these two restaurants.
If you do not want to spend extra on food, then stick with the main dining room or the buffet. Both are pretty good and have a lot of food to choose from but they do not compare with the above two restaurants. So budget wise if you are strapped for cash these would be the wiser choices.
There is a wonderful cafe downstairs, as well. Get the coffee cards otherwise you have to pay for each cappucino and iced coffee separately. The card allows you something like twenty coffees of any type for a set price. The pastries there are also very good.
Want to relax? Try their spa. Their masseuses are phenomenal as are their aestheticians. You will feel like a million bucks after going there. The only thing to watch out for is the upsells. They will try to get you to buy hundreds of dollars worth of products, so be strong.
Enjoy gambling? They have a small casino on board with poker and slot machines.
Or do you want to hang out by the pool. They have several gorgeous pools on board, some big and some jacuzzi sized. You can lay out there and catch some rays, read a book borrowed from their library or watch a movie being displayed right above the pool. The only thing that was a bit disturbing was that the kiddie pool started at six feet.
Although there is definitely a kids area with face painting, games and movies for the kids, the rest of the ship was not really kid friendly. So if your child is not a great swimmer, you may have to spend most of the time keeping an eye on them in the pools.
Love art? You can sit in on their free art auctions where you sip complimentary champagne and watch Picassos being bid on.
You will not be bored on this cruise line. There are plenty of classes that you can take or you can go work out in the gym. Plus the excursions are all well planned and if you take one of their Caribbean cruises you get to go to a private island that they rent. Their staff comes around and has exotic drinks that you can purchase to help you keep your vacation buzz.

Experiencing the magic of Disney at Disneyland
Resort, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort
Paris is something that is rarely forgotten as a
child or as an adult. With a Disney cruise, you
can now recapture that magic on board one of
Disney's elite cruise ships. There are several
exotic Caribbean cruise routes to choose from,
and with a spread of onboard entertainment for
all the family it is a cruise that will live long
in the memory of the young and the young at heart.
All Disney cruises depart from Port Canaveral in
Florida through Disney Cruise Lines, and take
guests out on a voyage of the Caribbean. Short
3-night cruises are catered for as well as 7 night
cruises that encompass a larger number of ports
around the Western Caribbean and Eastern Caribbean.
A typical three or four night Disney cruise takes
guests out into the Bahamas, and includes a visit to
the sun-drenched beaches of Nassau. Shore excursions
include a magical tour to the Discover Atlantis
attraction, which is home to more than 120,000 fish.
A 7-night Western Caribbean Disney cruise adds Key
West, Grand Cayman and the island of Cozumel near
Mexico to the list of port stops. At each location
a huge variety of shore excursions are offered for
both adults and kids.
On a 7-night Eastern Caribbean Disney cruise, the
Bahamas, and the islands of St Maarten and St Thomas
are incorporated into the itinerary. Again, just as
with the Western Caribbean Disney cruise you will
have a choice of many excellent excursion options
too. But, no matter which cruise route you choose
there is one common port of call - Castaway Island.
Castaway Island is Disney's own private island. It
is located near the island of Abacco at the northern
end of the Bahamas, and is a true Never Land. Here
you can explore paradise - secluded white sandy
beaches, warm shallow waters and coconut-laden palm
tree groves await, along with a whole host of
exciting activities. You can try your hand at
snorkeling while on the island, or go on a kayak
nature adventure. The glass-bottomed boat tour is
sure worth an hour and a half of your time on the
island too.
Of course, as you would expect from a corporation
like Disney, sumptuous catering is on offer on the
island and on board the cruise vessel at all times.
Days at sea are a pleasure too with so many activities
to keep adults and kids entertained for weeks!
And, when you're done watching one of Disney's original
stage shows, taking your kids to meet Snow White or
enjoying a spot of wine tasting (adults only!), you can
kick back in the luxurious surroundings of your cabin
or relax on the pool deck and soak up some glorious
Caribbean sunshine.

Carnival cruise to Jamaica?
My fiancé and are looking to go on a cruise, just a little getaway. And we were looking at the Carnival cruise line, and the one cruise that we are interested in was the 5 day eastern Caribbean cruise, out of Miami and the ports of call are cayman islands, and jamiaca and key west. Has anyone used carnival or even this particular cruise destination? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I have used Carnival Cruise lines before (won't make that mistake again) and I have visited those destinations but not in the same trip. I went there on Royal Caribbean. Your ports of call are fantastic. However, Carnival is not a very good cruise line compared to the others. I realize it is probably the cheapest but you get what you pay for. The food and service is sub-par. Also, the cheap price attracts a lot of college aged kids who cannot afford a good cruise.
Great itinerary, bad cruise line....

When it comes to choosing from the many Caribbean hotels available, there is one that looks like a lot of fun and that is the Atlantis on Nassau's Paradise Island. This stunning Caribbean beach resort is based on the theme of the legendary Atlantis. If you've ever wanted to add a little bit of fantasy to your vacation and step into another world, this is the place to go.
The Atlantis Attractions
The main attraction at Atlantis is the 63 acre water park called "Adventure." This water attraction is one of the largest in the world and no other Caribbean hotels have anything like it. It consists of water slides and a mile long river ride that you can explore on colorful inner tubes.
You'll go through rapids and waves that take you through the resort. The unique thing about this water ride is that once you're in your inner tube, you don't ever have to leave it. Adventure's technology moves you along with the power of water alone.
At the center of the complex is the "Power Tower". This "Tower" has four thrilling water slides and uses jets of water to move you up and down the slides at breath taking speeds. The Power Tower is 120 feet tall, making it twice as high as the Mayan Temple also situated on the resort's property. The Power Tower's slides include:
* The Abyss; a 200 foot body slide.
* The Drop; which starts at the river and brings you along through the Tower while you're in your inner tube and then drops you down through the center of the Tower.
* The Falls; consisting of a 58 foot drop.
* The Surge; starts at the very top of the Tower and takes you up and down camel back drops before plunging you into the water.
* The Current; the mile long river ride.
* Climber's Rush; combining rock climbing and a tidal wave pool.
Shark filled lagoons, lush tropical jungles and exciting water slides are a part of the Mayan Temple. This fantastic structure combines the mystery of the pyramids in the jungles of Mexico with the fun of a water park.
Other Caribbean hotels do not have this attraction - the Atlantis hotel has "Dolphin Cay", one of the largest dolphin habitats in the world. There are also interactive coves where you can get close to the dolphins. At the Royal Towers, you will find the Ruins Lagoon aquarium.
This aquarium is set up with many Atlantean "artifacts" and views of tropical fish that most people would never get a chance to see. Atlantis also has five other Lagoons that offer spectacular views of sharks, sting rays and rare tropical fish.
Atlantis has an extensive sports center which includes a weight room, lap pool and pro shop. The Ocean Club has a lovely course for the golfing enthusiast. If you're traveling with the kids, sign them up for the Atlantis Kids Club. The Morning and Afternoon Escapes are for kids 3-5 years old, and the Evening Escape is for kids 3- 12.
Their Aqua Tots offers your toddlers the opportunity feed the fish, but be sure to register your child early, only five children are selected on a daily basis for this experience. Keep in mind that on all the rides and the Aqua Tots that there are height restrictions involved. Your child has to be at least 48 inches tall to participate. Do other Caribbean hotels offer all of these attractions? Quite possibly not.
Passport Issues When Visiting Caribbean Hotels
Don't let the new passport requirements get you down either. Other Caribbean hotels offer amenities, but the Atlantis goes above and beyond. For a short time Atlantis is offering to pay for your family's passports. Call the resort or visit their interactive website for more details.

where to go for a vacation with hubby before i have my baby?
I am in my 2nd trimester(17 Weeks) and i want to plan a big vacation for my husband and i before we have the baby, since it will no longer be just the 2 of us. I want to stay either in the us or a Caribbean island. Any Suggestions
How about Tahoe? Tahoe is absolutely BEAUTIFUL this time of year and there is a lot to do if you choose to, or it is a great place to just kick back and relax. New York City is also awesome this time of year and (obviously) offers a ton of stuff to do. During the second trimester of my pregnancy I felt so great and it was the perfect time to vacation. Walking around New York City was not as exhausting as I thought it would be, believe it or not. Anyway, those aremy two suggestions. I would suggest Napa Valley but the best things about Napa are the wineries... which are no bueno right now ![]()
