Which cruise is better?
I am looking in to either taking the Disney caribbean cruise or the Mediterranean cruise. Which one is better? Also, what all costs extra while on board? Thank You.
If you are all into fun in the sun, then take the Caribbean cruise. But if you want to see ancient times and lots of history and ruins, then take the Mediterranean. My choice would be the Mediterranean. I have been to both and the Mediterranean was so unbelievable, exciting and beautiful. It is also more expensive because you have to fly to somewhere like Spain or Italy to get onto the cruise ship. So, take that into consideration.

Disney Cruise Lines - 7-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise! iCruise.com
Have you ever been to Puerto Rico? If you were ever there, did you take time to meet the people? How long were you there? Have you ever been to the Drivers License Bureau to get a drivers license? Have you ever been pulled over, by the police, in Puerto Rico? Some interesting questions for sure.
Puerto Rico is approximately 60 miles wide by 100 miles long. And you thought Massachusetts was small. It is one of the many Caribbean Islands. Some people do not even realize Puerto Rico is an island. It has a rain forest and it rains almost everyday around mid day. It is always warm in Puerto Rico with temperatures hardy ever dropping below 60 Fahrenheit. The chief manufactured goods is pharmaceuticals.
When you go to Puerto Rico you can rent a car rather easily. They are cheap as well by comparison to the U.S.. They hardly ever even need a credit card either. Where are you going to take the car anyway, you are on an island. Do make sure to get the insurance as the people on the island drive, shall we say, differently.
If you are to get a drivers license in Puerto Rico, you will find it to be easier to do than in the states. Just look for the fireworks stand looking plywood building. That is right, the drivers license place may be a building made of plywood and 2X4's with a metal roof. Of course you will have to have a medical card to get a license there. You will find the medical card facility located right next to the drivers license place a lot of times. It will be the other plywood and 2X4 building with the metal roof. People who have lost their drivers license can get one in Puerto Rico easily, and they work in the states.
Did you know you can homestead land in Puerto Rico? You can, and it is very easy. Of course the land is centrally located in the rain forest. You are not that far from regular civilization, however, as the island is small, remember. You can cut your own trees to use to build your home right there. It may be slightly hard to get electric though.
Puerto Rico is a location the U.S. Government uses as a military tactical defense position. It is far enough from the states and is a great launching point for not only planes but ships as well. The U.S. government pays Puerto Rico a certain fixed amount regularly for the use of the island as a military defense strong point. The Puerto Rican residents are normally supportive in discussions about this matter.
Because they are getting money from the U.S. regularly the people on the island normally do not have to work. They all can sign up for government aid and they are supplied with a home and food. As a matter of fact an American can go to the Puerto Rico Government and sign up and be given a home and an allowance to live on. This means the people there are actually content and generally very nice. They do not have nearly as many worries as the normal American takes on. Many of them do work for extra cash as well.
When your chief manufactured goods are pharmaceuticals the drugs are readily available. You can buy every type of drug in Puerto Rico rather cheaply. In America the street value for cocaine is probably 4 times that of Puerto Rico. It is not hard to guess that chief pharmaceutical is codeine. Cocaine is too available as a person will be offered to purchase the drug almost any where they go. This is one of the bad points of Puerto Rico.
The drug trade has actually led to one of the other bad points, AIDS. The island population is nearly 80% positive for HIV. An alarming rate that has led to the shut down of legalized prostitution. The prostitution was shut down despite requiring the escorts to have a legal Identification on them at all times while conducting business. I.D.'s for prostitution became like anything else, there became a large number of falsified I.D.'s on the island. Puerto Rico was forced to shut down one of the islands other money producing venues.
Puerto Rico is still a great place to go and enjoy yourself. You can buy beer at a tavern for under $2. Motels are easy to find under $50 and they are all located near a large tourist area, the island is small. You will recognize many of the places there because several U.S. companies have built businesses there. The people usually know enough English to communicate with . They do respect you more if you at least try to speak some Spanish. The beaches are awesome and normally filled at all the major beach fronts. They have casinos there as well as the Off Track Betting.
Go to Puerto Rico and enjoy. Just take in note the few precautions that you now have knowledge of. If you happen to go to Puerto Rico make sure to carry sunscreen, shorts, T-shirts, straws, sandals, camera, and other things that may apply to warm weather climates.

I've been trying to figure this out for a while?
My dad's side of the family are from Trinidad and Tobago/Barbados and the other Caribbean Islands
Now on my mom's side...
But my great grandma is a quarter mexican, a quarter Navajo, and the rest African-american[her mom married a black man]
my great grandfather was half american indian[blackfoot] and half African-American
what would that make me? I'm sure it barely comes down to me
i'm sorry?
i think this is the wrong section...
Your question is in the genealogy area, which is quite correct.
If one makes the attempt to find accurate "percentages", there are two things you need... first, you need both sides (ie dad's and mom's). For example, you might figure your mother to be a certain part Blackfoot... but if your father also had that in his background, it would affect your equation(s). The other thing needed, IF you were intent on the answer, would be quality documentation of each individual.
Just for analogy, ok?.. the simple thing would be to say that YOU are 1/8th of EACH of your gr grandparents, and for the sake of that analogy, say that each of them were from a different heritage but "full" English, German, Navajo, etc. For some.. it is just that easy, but for many Americans, we already descend from various ancestors who are NOT "full" anything. On mom's side, you mention great grandmother/ grandfather. But you only have part of mom's ancestry there, so the 'other' ancestors would be needed too.
IF you had solid documentation of (example) the Navajo line, if gr grandma is 1/4 that, her children are 1/8th; her grandchildren 1/16th; her gr grandchildren 1/32nd. I repeat.. all of this is dependent upon 'proof', since many lines and families pass down oral history that is more tradition than fact.
Math wise- someone is full English, and the other is 1/2 French, 1/2 German.. you'll need the old fashioned lowest common denominator. The English person is actually 2/2.
So.. if you only have part of the information, you won't accurately be able to figure YOU. You may figure mom out (with the other persons included), where you would only be 1/2 of whatever fraction she is.
Nothing wrong with saying that you have Navajo, AfricanAmerican, Trinidadian (if that is the right word) in your heritage, without the attempt to figure the exact numbers.
One thing that we do get a lot of here, are persons who ONLY want to know their Native percentage, so they can apply for tribal enrollment, and thus (they think) qualify for financial benefits. That certainly does not apply to all persons who are researching their heritage, so the comment was uncalled for.

Disney World?
What is a good Condo to stay at just outside disney world but is not TOO expensive, like, less than the disney world resorts (caribbean beach, port orleans, ect) and you can easy drive to disney world in a rental car? Pictures and comments and links are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
I think it's called the Carribe Royale (I'm not totally sure if I spelled that right... they have some nice villa suites there. I'm not sure on prices though, but it's just outside of Disney.
It's easy to get around in a rental car, the only pain is the parking lots at the parks.

Wizards Of Waverly Place: The Movie - Official Trailer (Extended HD)
The State of Oregon is located in the Pacific Northwest. Once home to many tribes of Native Americans, the Oregon territory was formed in 1848 and in 1859, Oregon became the 33rd state in the U.S. Though much travel in Oregon is based on Salem and other more tourist based areas, the state of Oregon has much to offer the traveler willing to step into the wilderness and see what the true wilds of Oregon have to offer the adventure traveler.
Over 200 waterfalls are found throughout the state of Oregon. From large cascading waterfalls to smaller and less daunting falls, the area is filled with these natural wonders. Waterfalls are classed into ten categories, 10 being the largest volume of water and 1 the smallest volume of water. An example of a class 10 waterfall is Niagara Falls.
Most of the waterfalls in Oregon are on the eastern side of the state, surrounding either side of I-5. I-5 runs parallel to the Cascade Mountain Range, a major mountain range in North America which includes mountains that are both volcanic and not volcanic. It's sheer height and size make it a very moist area with much rainfall and snow as well, which contribute to the massive quantity of water and waterfalls in this part of Oregon.
Waterfalls in Oregon
Barr Creek Falls, Jackson County, Oregon
Barr Creek Falls is a multi-stepped waterfall in Rogue River Canyon. It drops 60 feet then falls another 30 feet, then plunges 150 feet to the canyon floor. As the creek does not hold a large volume of water, the falls vary from a torrent in the spring during the melt to a smaller more delicate flow when late summer occurs. Total height of these falls in 240 feet, with 3 drops and an average width of 20 feet.
Beaver Falls, Columbia County, Oregon
Beaver Creek sheets out over a basalt lava flow and careens into a large pool below. These falls are also based on waterflow with the spring flow being quite large and dangerous to a smaller flow in the summer, allowing visitors the chance to experience the falls from below. Height is 40 feet, 1 drop and an average width of 30 feet.
Other falls include Mill Creek Falls, North Falls, Spirit Falls, Alsea Falls and more. Local guides and tour companies are willing to take visitors on trips in and around the multiple river systems throughout Oregon. Located throughout the region, riverboats, driftboats, kayak and canoe trips are just waiting for you to take advantage of the glorious splendors of the rivers and waterfalls of Oregon. All Inclusive Excursions Fort Worth hopes that you will enjoy your next destination vacation to see the many beautiful sites in Oregon.
Nevis
Nevis is a small island located close to the end of the Lesser Antilles Archipelago, about 2 miles from the island of St. Kitts. Separated only by a channel known as the narrows, these two islands together make up the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The island of Nevis is volcanic island with it's center being the actual Nevis Peak, the center of the volcano. Because of it's volcanic beginnings, much of its wonderful features are volcanically created. From sand made up of ground down volcanic rocks to its freshwater streams and hot springs found mostly along the western coast. Nevis has many nicknames including "land of beautiful water" and "sweet island". Though unknown to many, history buffs may know of its existence as the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.
With a population of approximately 12,000 the largest source of revenue for Nevis is tourism. With average temperatures ranging from the 70's to the 80's year round and a relatively low humidity, the weather is just one of the many great things about Nevis.
Enjoy the earth, see the sites and travel as much as you can. Oregon and Nevis, though different, both offer something special to the adventure or leisure tourist. Take advantage of the history and heritage of the world around you. Special sites such as Nevis and Oregon exist everywhere, all you have to do is look.

What are some good Caribbean vacation locations, in August for people aged 23-25?
Hello all,
A group of friends and myself (all aged 22-25, male and female) are looking to go to on a vacation to the Caribbean this August. Here is what we are looking for:
- Resort, all inclusive (3-4 nights)
- A place that caters to the single crowd, aged 22-25. Clubs, loungers and restaurants are a big plus.
- We are not the bleached blonde hair beach bimbo and idiot type. Places that draw these crowds exclusively should be avoided.
We are open to suggestions from specific resorts and plans or even countries that would be good that time of year.
Thank you much.
Puerto Rico! San Juan has the best nightlife in the caribbean! People love to party & dance & have fun, plus there are no 'tourists towns', the locals & the culture are still here too. There are casinos & the bacardi factory tour w/ free drinks. Plus Puerto Rico has tourists but not 'tourist towns' like some places. There is so many other things to do also. The only thing is PR doesnt really have all-inclusive resorts, its a US commonwealth & it is basically run the same way. There are gorgeous hotels though & food is pretty cheap if you dont go to a high class restaraunt. Check out this to learn more. Enjoy

Have you ever wondered what travel means to you? This is a question I have often posed to the many travel writers I have interviewed over the past few years and for most the reply was that travel takes you out of your ordinary routine, where "ordinary" people from all walks of life can engage with each other. In reality, it is an activity that is highly motivated by curiosity about the world and its people. As Patricia Schultz, author of the New York Times bestseller, 1000 Places To See Before You Die, states in her introduction, "the urge to travel-to open our minds and move beyond the familiar-is as old as man himself."
Schultz has written an ambitious compilation of one thousand places that she describes as her own personal short list of dream trips. She narrows the world into a tour of eight regions: Europe, Africa, The Middle East, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and The Pacific Islands, The United States and Canada, Latin America, The Caribbean, Bahamas, and Bermuda. These geographical divisions are further subdivided by country and within each country they are organized alphabetically by region or town. For example, if we refer to the USA & Canada, the reader is presented with a miniature map that is followed by short descriptions of "must see" venues within each state commencing with Alaska's Mount McKinley and Denali National Park and ending with Quebec, Canada. In addition, there is a succinct wealth of information pertaining to each choice containing practical advice that will help you plan your trip such as hotels, sites, activities, events, outfitters or operators offering tours, treks, safaris, etc, lodging, costs, trips and/or excursions, restaurants, when to go, travel safety, and required travel documents.
Schultz's writing style is crisp and clear as she reports with great depth on sites and venues that would suit all interests- from historic locations, to cultural attractions, and some that would enthrall you with their natural splendor as the Grand Canyon. Interspersed are numerous small black- and -white photos (typically one to a page) depicting places and people that exemplify the uniqueness of a particular venue. As a result, the reader can develop a sense of the areas being discussed and perhaps pinpoint which venues would be of particular interest to visit and further investigate. An added bonus are special indexes at the end of the book where readers will find entries for active travel and adventure, ancient worlds, culinary experiences, festivals and special events, glories of nature, gorgeous beaches and getaway islands, great hotels and resorts, living history such as castles and palaces, unrivaled museums, roads, routes and byways and sacred places.
Rich with research and personal insights, 1000 Places To See Before You Die is a fascinating voyage around the world that will appeal to every traveler, vicarious or otherwise, and deserves to be a fixture on home bookshelves as a valuable travel resource.
Taking a cruise vacation is fun and their are ways of making it even more enjoyable with a bit of preparation and knowledge. Before booking your cruise their are things that you should know.
Are you going on a family vacation, a couples cruise or a singles cruise? Depending on the answer to this question, the type of cruise and cruise line that you choose will differ.
Families who do not gamble should seriously consider the Disney line. There are tons of things for the kids to do and there is a whole area for adults as well, as well as a spa area for relaxation. Every person that I talk to that took one of their cruises has said that their kids begged to be allowed to stay in the kids area. They were just having way too much fun to want to leave for even a minute.
There are also a ton of things to do together, like the Broadway style shows, amazing meals and on shore excursions.
Now if you are going on a family vacation and the adults want to gamble, try a Royal Caribbean Cruise. There is a kids area, as well as a kiddie pool but there is also a casino for the adults. On top of that you have excursions, as well, onboard shows, a spa, tons of activities and outstanding cuisine.
If you are more into the singles or even couples scene and you like to party a bit, go with Carnival cruise lines. They are typically less expensive and have a party atmosphere. You can lounge by the pool, dance in their clubs and mingle to your heart's content with hundreds of like minded individuals.
If upscale and quiet is more your speed go for the Princess Cruise line. In our opinion this is the least kid friendly. The kiddie pool on the two cruises that we went on began at 6 feet. This is a slightly older crowd that is being catered to. There are several amazing restaurants onboard like Sabatinis where for an extra $25 you get unlimited courses. There are pasta dishes, lobster, steaks, incredible desserts and more and you can have as many portions as you like. If you want to pamper yourself there is an onboard spa and an oasis which you can pay a small fee to reserve. Children are not allowed in this area and it is dedicated to peace and quiet. You can lounge by the pool certain that you will not be disturbed. Or you can go to one of the other pools and actually mingle and meet people.
All of these cruises offer treats like movie nights by the pool, snack bars throughout the ship, buffets, free classes, paid classes, spas, different dining plans depending on whether you want to eat with the same people night after night or if you prefer your own table and dining schedule. They all also offer onboard shows, art auctions, on shore excursions and more. Many even own or rent their own private island for you to enjoy.
Your first cruise vacation will amaze you and you will have fun. The only word of caution is to buy some Dramamine before hand just in case you hit slightly bumpy waters. It should help you feel great and enjoy your trip even more.

Cruise information, age restrictions and more info please?
Okay so I want to go on a cruise for my 17th birthday. I'll be bringing 2 people with me, my best friend who is 16 and my boyfriend who is 18. So all together we have a 16, 17, and 18 year old. I've never been on a cruise before, but my boyfriend owns a boat and we lives near the beach and we go out all the time. What other cruises are there other then carnival cruise and such? I also need it to be on the cheaper side since I'm paying all 3 tickets. I looked up carnival's age restrictions and such, and since it's my 17th birthday I kind of wanted to drink? Are there any cruises that once in international waters the age limit is dropped from 21? I don't really care where the cruise goes, my choice would be Caribbeans or Bahamas or maybe Jamaica? Something like that would be nice. Please let me know what cruises I could go on!! (My 18 year old boyfriend would be our only adult unless 17 is counted an adult) lol
Thanks!!! :}
None of the cruise lines drop frm 21, espicially to 17.
You have to have a 21 year old in your party to go on the cruise anyways, being 18. 17. and 16, in order to go you would have to an adult aged 21+

El Dorado Seaside Suites by Cruise Holidays of Kansas City
When you go on a cruise with your family you need to find a cruise ship that meets with your needs. Cruise ships come in all different sizes and different kind of amenities so you will have to plan carefully what experience you and your family want from your cruise vacation.
The first think you need to find out is what children facilities are available on the cruise vessel that you are thinking of booking your holiday for. If you have infants you may need to ensure that there are cribs or that there is a menu that caters for infant food as well as that of small children.
Because a cruise trip is something for the parents to also also enjoy you ought to seek out a cruise that has proper baby sitting facilities. That way you can take the odds spa bath or other various relaxing treatment that adults can enjoy. Most cruises will have these facilities but always best to ensure that these are available and highlighted in your brochure so you know that is something which the cruise ship really cares about.
Each family bases cruised should have programs which cater both for the enjoyment of adult passengers and young. In most cases each may also over lap so that adults and children can enjoy these activities together if one wanted to. To this end most cruise ships have activities ranging from sports activities like water polo, to leisure ones like treasure hunts or video games and educational talks. Basically anything that can keep children occupied.
Cruise ships have different types of cabin depending on your budget. A standard cabin normally has 4 beds which is suitable for most average size family. If your family is larger you may need to consider booking another cabin. This is certainly something you need factor in when you budget for your holiday.
The one thing that you need to do when you book a cruise is making a medical appointment in case you have some ailment that may prevent you from making a trip over water. Also because often cruises stop over in countries where some diseases have a high risk of being contracted you will need to get proper immunization so that you do not end up having the worst holiday combating a nasty tropical disease etc.
Ultimately the best tip is to find a cruise ship that gives you the best experience for you and your family. It is also always best to sometime spend a little bit more and go for a recognised cruise liner than opting for a less expensive one that may turn out to give you an inferior vacation cruise experience. Looking at what kind of cruise ship you will travel on will go along way towards ensuring that is indeed the case.

What is the best cruise line for our family?
Just brainstorming things for the summer. There is two adults and one 17 year old. We are usually flexible, but are picky eaters. We are true kids at heart and love to have fun at the pool, playing games and such. We are wanting to do either Mexican Rivera or the Western Caribbean. I know that every cruise line is different, which one do you think would be the best for our family? The major cruise lines we have considered are Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Disney and Carnival (we are still unsure about the "party boat" history).
We know the "lowest room" or however you call it, would be a ocean view for us. We want to at least be able to look at the big blue. WE HAVE NEVER DONE A CRUISE BEFORE!!
First, I would say forget about Disney unless you want to be around hundreds of kids. The best cruise line for families with kids to go on is Royal Caribbean. It has the most on-board activities for kids and the other cruise lines cannot compare. Royal Caribbean is also a cruise line that caters to young cruiser and families. It has things like ice skating, roller blading, mini-golf course, a full sized basketball/tennis court, the rock climbing wall, and on the new Freedom Class ships the surfing simulator, the Flowrider. It has an area on its ships called Adventure Ocean which has programs for kids of all ages between 3 and 17. It has a special teen disco area that is open until 2:00AM each evening. The RC ships that you should look for cruises on are the RC's Oasis Class, Freedom Class and Voyager Class ships. You can look at the features of these ships on these two web links:
After Royal Caribbean the next best would be Carnival. Carnival is the budget cruise line that generally has the lowest prices. They cater to young people, first time cruiser and families. The best of their ships are their newer ships so do pay attention to when the ship was launched is you find a really cheap cruise. While Carnival is good for kids, you will have a much better cruise on Royal Caribbean.
Regardless of which cruise line you select the things that are included are pretty much the same. The price of your cruise includes your cabin, all meals (including breakfast, lunch dinner, snacks and free room service), free admissions to all shows and entertainment, and free use of all facilities on ship except spa services. The things that you will have to pay for are:
GRATUITIES: They will amount to about $10 per person in your cabin per day; about $70 each for a 7 day cruise.
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS AND SOFT DRINKS: Coffee, tea, milk, juice, and lemonade and punch will be provided free but you must pay for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages and they will add a 15percent gratuity to each drink and soft drink order.
PHOTOGRAPHS: Cruise lines will take plenty of photographs of you all over the ship, in the dining room, and as you exit the ship in ports. These will cost a lot, like $15 to $20 for most.
TOURS/EXCURSIONS: You are not required to book any tours and can get off and on in the ports as much as you want. But the cruise line will offer a lot of tours and these are expensive.
SPA SERVICES: If you want/need to have your hair done, get a massage or wrap, or any services from the spa, you will have to pay for them. You can use the gym free but the spa stuff cost big bucks.
INTERNET SVCS: Ships now have internet cafe and some have WiFi but the there is a fee for internet access and it is very expensive (like about $50 to $60 an hour).
Its my opinion that the best cruises are Western Caribbean because they provide the opportunity for great beaches and also the opportunity to visit Mayan ruins. I have cruised the Western Caribbean and the Mexican Riviera and liked the Caribbean much better.

The Disneyland Resort offers some of the most fun, entertaining, and delicious meals around. While traveling you want to try foods that are new, fun, and exciting. Don't know where you would find such places? Let me take away the stress and help you out! I've put together a "must go by" list of places to eat at when vacationing at the Disneyland Resort. Whether you are looking for Character Dining or dining elegance, they have it all. Here are my top ten, not in any particular order!
Goofy's Kitchen is an all-you-care-to-eat buffet featuring American cuisine with healthy options. They even offer a vegetarian menu. My famliy and I are want to take a vacation right after christmas in december. we want to go somewhere tropical in the Caribbean or Mexico. We dont need somewhere for families with little kids bc the youngest is 13. I would love to hear peoples suggestions from your experiences!!!
Me and my partner stayed in the Dominican Republic back in January this year (North side) and it was perfect. Stayed at a hotel called Iberostar Costa Dorada - its more for couples there but there was families there as well. It is really lovely country to go to and nice and hot but not too hot! If you go here you have to go to the Paradise Island trip - you take a trip to a lonely desert island (literally) and can go snorkeling with a professional diver who will take underwater photos of you feeding the fish if you have your own underwater camera (which you can buy there). You also have to go on the outback safari ( http://www.outbacksafari.com.do/ ) the children will love it and you will too, you get to hold a baby crocodile! Brilliant country and the people are really friendly - just be careful as some people will try and force you to buy from them! The people there love it if you at least attempt to speak their language (Spanish) too.
If you go to the North side of the island you are on the Atlantic, but the sea is still rather calm and very warm! The south side of the island is the Caribbean sea, we didn't go to that side of the island but it is probably as gorgeous as the north side. Would recommend you to go there 200%! If you did go there you would want to go for two weeks or more as there is loads to do! Also go to Ocean World ( http://www.oceanworld.net/index.cfm?organization_id=107§ion_id=1541 ) and do the shark / dolphin / sea encounters and swim!
My partners sister went to Mexico a few years ago (before I knew them) and they said they would definatley go again! Its a beautiful country!
Good luck
Hope you find somewhere great
