Wanting to renew our vows for our 10 year anniversary and include our kids. ?

My husband and I have been married for 7 1/2 years. We have 4 kids and are pregnant with #5. When we got married, I was pregnant, so we just did a quick ceremony with the preacher, my husbands parents and my dad. It is most girls dream to have a "dream wedding" and we want to do something for our 10 year anniversary that includes all of our kids. We want to also do a spectacular ceremony that includes all of our close friends and family (maybe a big ceremony at an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean.

I am simply wanting info and tips from people that have done something like this. What all do you need to plan early and what simply plans need to be thought of. Also, any good resorts or locations.

I don't want any bad comments or negativity.

Thanks ahead of time.

Here's a website that might help.

You can google "carribean wedding packages" and find a bunch of resorts. I would suggest finding a resort that has all-inclusive packages where they handle the food, flowers, decorations, photography and even the officiate or minister (unless you're bringing your own). They usually have onsite nail and hair salons. The only thing you want to worry about is travel arrangments and your dress and the same for your family. You do not want to be trying to ship decorations and favors and other stuff to an island. The resorts that do this normally have a wedding planner whose fee should be included in the package deal. They normally offer room discounts as well and by all means, NEGOTIATE. Resorts right now are hurting and even though you're booking way in advance (if they let you book this far out), you can probably get a great deal.

My sister did the same thing at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. They had a lovely chappel and took care of everything.

Keep in mind that people may have a hard time (especially right now) committing to traveling to the carribean but hopefully times will get easier as we get closer to your big day and affordability won't be such an issue. There are some beautiful coastal Florida resorts that have wedding packages too - especially on some of the islands off the coast. Hope this helps!

Receive less friendly service when booking a vacation through discount travel sites?

Hey everyone

I am curious so I am hoping to get as much feedback as possible on this; When booking a vacation, if you book a vacation package through a discount travel site (cheaptickets, priceline, orbitz...etc) have you experienced service from the hotel/resort that you felt was lacking because you didn't pay full price for the room?

The reason I ask is because my girlfriend and I are looking at purchasing a trip to the Caribbean, and have been looking at multiple ways of booking, including booking through the hotel/resort and airlines separately, and a package deal through a discount site. Obviously I save money one way, but if the service is terrible because of it, I dont want to risk our vacation being tainted.

Let me know what you think.

I have used Travelocity for years for both trips in the US and in Rome. Have not had any problem with customer service based on using travelocity but I have had hotels suggest that I call them directly next time and they will give me a better rate(?). I cannot say if it will be different in the Carribbean. I highly recommend reading the other traver reviews on each property before booking, these are people that have booked thru the discount sight and they will indicate the level of service they received.

Is Caribbean Cruise Line legit?

My sister and her boyfriend just booked a "great" deal with Caribbean Cruise lines that includes several free nights in Florida, an upgraded cabin, a few nights in Las Vegas, etc.... They paid around $1000 for the trip. Is this a legitimate cruise line and deal? I'm afraid they're going to be ripped off!

I'm sorry to say this but it is a SCAM!! They have fooled many many people, but why did they pay the money and now ask if its a scam? They should have found out if it was a scam first before paying the money.

Read the review below of a couple who almost got scammed by them:

Hope this helps!

Anyone been on cruises before, please help!!!?

First of all, what are the best cruise lines in terms of all inclusive, activities, services, entertainment, ect...

Secondly, i know that some cruiselines have options of a pre stay. Where you can stay in the departure city for a couple of days before boarding the cruise. What im wondering is if any cruise line has the option of staying at one of the destination points. For example, if you leave from new york, and one of your stops is san juan, puerto rico. Is there an option to stay there for a couple of days then head back on the cruise. I thought that there would be, but im not sure if this is an option. Please help, thanks...

Third, what are the best places to visit, im thinking about a caribbean cruise.

I just love to cruise. I have been on a few cruise lines, NCL (Norwegian Cruise Lines) Carnival , and Royal Caribbean. I liked Royal Caribbean the best. I have been on 5 cruises with them and every one has been a joy. I have been to the Caribbean and it was just wonderful, I would recommend it to everyone, but make sure that you go on a 7-10 day cruise. I have also been to Bermuda and also Mexico and Alaska. In my opinion, it is the only way to go on vacation. Good luck with your decision, on where to go. As far as staying at one port for any extended time, I would ask a travel agent it that was possible...

are there some black British in the UK of many generations?

I know that Liverpool is the oldest community of Black British, dating back in the18th century

so, are there nowadays some black British that come from those of the 18th or 19th century Caribbean ancestors???

because most of the ones I know have parents or grandparents born in the Caribbean islands

are there anyone of the old generations?? by the way, do these people know the island of origin of their ancestors or not at all??? because it's been a long time!

Yes - many. London and Liverpool were large ports, and African sailors or slaves, often left their ships and settled down with local girls. Africans were known in England from Medieval times. Because it was normal for people just marry and settle down with whoever was available, their descendants gradually disappeared into the general population. Unless there were written records (not very likely) people would have forgotten where their 'slave' ancestors came from. Of course, they would have known that their ancestors probably came from West Africa originally. In Philippa Gregory's novel "A Respectable Trade" there is a note at the back, saying that there were up to 10,000 freed or escaped Africans living around the Pool of London (the dock area) and what is now east London, but they 'disappeared' as a recognisable group through intermarriage.

Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas? or another cruise like celebrity or carnival?

my family of 4 (i'm 15 and my brother is 17) is planning a July 2008 caribbean cruise. The liberty of the seas looked really nice, and they had some convenient dates, but is there something better we might be missing?

if you suggest something other than royal caribbean, which cruise line and specific ship?

thanks guys!

P.S. we're looking for a really fun ship with lots to do and see, as well as being worth the $$$ and a luxurious experience.

Liberty of the Seas is BY FAR, the best bet!!!
Tons and tons of stuff to do on the ship and lots of shore excursions options, on most trips.

I just got back a week ago from a 7-night western Caribbean cruise on the Liberty and I had a blast!!

We were in Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel and we found lots of fun stuff to do in all four places!!

Where can I find a great Caribbean cruise deal?

How do I avail of one?

You can do a thorough search on the internet for you to find a good caribbean cruise deal. You may also want to check out other travel sites on the web such as Hotwire, Priceline or Travelocity. Also you can directly visit a travel agent since they access to special rates and reservations.
