People will always find a unique place to relax and unwind at some point in their lives. Some people opt a very silent place while others opt to go to the busy and crowded malls to shop. Personally, I find going to the beach relaxing but exciting at the same time.

There is just something about the beach that captivates my heart. Perhaps it's because our city is abundant in beautiful beach spots. But what are really found in these beach resorts? Here are just some of them:

1. The Sea Itself - Breathtaking. It is in itself naturally amazing as it not only refreshes our body but also brings fun. Being able to float on water will always feel wonderful.

2 The Sand - This will always make you remember something. It can be your childhood when you have attempted or successfully made sand castles. It can also be your recent get-away with your honey when you wrote your names on the sand and took pictures of it.

3. Free Souvenirs - Souvenirs are found everywhere the beach. It can be that nearby unique seashell, or that hermit crab walking past your feet. You can even take home some sand if you like!

4. Happy People - It is almost rare to see someone sad at the beach. Everyone is happy! That is because everyone has a common goal --- that is to relax! The beach will always be a great place to read magazines, write poems or watch the sunset.

5. Sports - While others prefer quiet and calm activities at the beach, some find doing sports more relaxing. The beach is suitable for playing games such as Frisbee, flying a kite, playing catch and surfing!

People may have different ways of relaxing but for me, the beach is the best place. There will always be an exciting, fun-filled, memorable experience at the beach for everyone!

Does the pirate themed room at Caribbean Beaches Resort in Disney have a bathroom door?

I've been looking at some pictures of the pirate themed rooms at the Caribbean Beaches Resort in Disney, and I know there is a curtain separating the bathroom and bedroom, but is there an actual door?

The curtain separates the bedroom from the double sink area. Once standing in the sink area, there is a door to the side that separates the sink area from the toilet/shower.

If you're a LPN travel nursing jobs can be very exciting and pay very well. There are agencies that fill temporary vacancies in a variety of locations, you could end up on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, a ski resort in the Rockies, or in a top research hospital in California. LPNs are contracted for short-term assignments (as little as eight weeks, as long as 26) by agencies that specialize in travel nursing.

Perks include travel expenses, housing, benefits such as health insurance and 401ks, and help with obtaining licensing in different states. Best of all, LPN travel nursing jobs usually earn a higher rate of pay than traditional nurses, and the race to attract LPNs is so competitive, some agencies even pay bonuses for the completion of an assignment or recruiting a friend.

In order to pursue a travel nursing career like this, you need to choose a travel nursing agency. To find the one that's right for you, do some research to compare pay rates, benefits, and the variety and number of jobs available. Many nursing websites host forums where nurses give the thumbs up or down on their experiences with various agencies.

Once you have made your choice, completed an application, and been accepted as a traveling LPN, you will typically be assigned to a personal recruiter who will help you find the position you are looking for. Location, type of facility, and length of the job are some of the factors that will be discussed.

When a good match is found, you will probably have a phone interview with a manager at the hospital or facility. Personal recruiters provide appropriate information on the job to prepare you for the interview.

Countries in the Caribbean with good health care?

I want to travel around the Caribbean a bit, but I have a mild autoimmune disease, which doesn't really exist in that area of the world, and need to make sure whatever country I'm in has excellent health care, just incase I get sick. I've been sticking to Cuba since they have advanced health care. What other countries in the Caribbean have excellent and advanced health care?

Thanks!

Barbados is said to have the best, most advanced medical care in the Caribbean. Barbados has over twenty polyclinics, a place where a wide range of health care services (including diagnostics) can be obtained without the need for an overnight stay, throughout the country in addition to the Queen Elizabeth (General Hospital) located in Bridgetown.

What's the best island in the Caribbean to visit?

My husband and another couple really want to take a vacation to the Caribbean but have no clue which island to visit. Neither of us has kids. We would really like to avoid areas with high crime rates. Any suggestions would be helpful.

For a romantic and peaceful friends vacation, try St. Barts island : many beautiful beaches, good restaurants very secure nightlife. We stayed my wife and two other couples in Anse des Cayes area in front of Chevreau and Fregate Islands, in a virgin spot 5mn drive from St Jean's bay and Gustavia for nightlife, shops and restaurants. If you want to check some pic from Anse des Cayes sea view : http://www.stbartsluxuryvilla.com/amazing-seaview-from-the-hill-of-anse-des-cayes-st-barts/

Thassos is an exotic Greek island in the Aegean Sea and it is situated a few kilometers away from the continent, 20 kilometers southeast from Kavala. If you travel from the nearest, to the island link (Keramoti) it will be a cheap and quick ferry travel around 30 minutes. The season in Thassos is nearly 2 months shorter than the one in Keramoti - from the second half of May to the first half of September. During the peak of the season (July and August) there are sometimes cool winds and rains because the island is completely surrounded by water. There are many hotel houses you can rent.

The ancient Greek legend tells us that this place is one of the most erotic adventures of Zeus. The Phoenician king Aginor had three sons: Phoenix, Siliks and Cadmus and one daughter called Europa. One summer day, Zeus transformed into a bull and took away Europa to a cave in the island Crete. After the act, three sons were born - Minos, the famous king of Crete, Radamantos, the wise lawmaker and Sarpidon, the first king of ancient Litsiya. While hidden in the island of Crete, Europa was enjoying the caress of Zeus, her father Aginor sent his three sons and his only grandson Thassos to find Europa and told them to search until they find her. All head in different directions - Phoenix head south, Siliks head north, Cadmus searched over the islands. But even the advices of the famous oracle of Delphi didn't help them to find Europa. After searching in many places the young Thassos arrived on the island and charmed by the greenery and the nice climate, he decided to stay here and that how the island got its name.

Another legend tells us that this remarkable place was once home of beautiful creatures, half women half fish called sirens. Those mermaids were singing beautiful songs and thus casting a spell on the passing by sailors. And due to this legend Thassos is the place where the sirens tried to divert Ulysses from his path.

When you travel around the island you will see the many olive trees, the endless pine tree forests, various beautiful pictures where the green trees are mixing with the blue water. But there is some shortage of long beach - you can enjoy the many small ones. But when you travel around Thassos you will find the many remarkable bays which are sometimes hard to reach. It seems that, these hidden positions, has kept them natural and beautiful, because the bus with tourist can hardly reach these spots.

If you are looking for peaceful vacation on some exotic place, then the island of Thassos can offer you just what you want. It is a remarkable place surrounded by water, with nice climate and still preserved the magic from the ancient times. You won't be disappointed if you visit this wonderful place in Greece.

Best digital camera?

Hello,

I am looking for a good camera with professional results. I will be taking pictures in the Caribbean on a regular basis so it has to be great with landscapes and zooming. I will also be traveling in England and will be taking both landscape and close up pictures (people). I would also like to have one that keeps dust off the lens (vibrates) effectively because I will be spending a month in desert areas of Africa.

I know this is a lot of information but I really need this camera a soon as possible. As for the weigh, It does not really matter and my budget goes up to 1200$ CAN.

Thanks a lot!

If you're looking for professional results and weight isn't a concern, your best bet will be a decent lens on a consumer digital SLR camera. I mention the lens first because the quality of your shots will be determined by the glass in front of the camera, not the camera itself. For the most part, all DSLR's on the market from all the major camera manufacturers are going to take professional quality pictures if a good photographer is using good glass with them. When searching for a lens, a great website to check out is www.slrgear.com. Find the lens(es) that would suit you in both price and quality, and then choose a camera to go with it. I very very rarely used zoom lenses, I normally go with fixed focal lens (no zooming) for their quality, but I can attest to the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 as being a high quality piece of glass.

As for the camera, the consumer-level offerings of Canon (400D/450D), Nikon (D80), Olympus (E-510), and Pentax (K10D/K20D) will all be great choices. Canon and Nikon will be more readily available because these are the two biggest camera manufacturers. These are most often the systems used by professionals because of the huge selection of lenses and accessories available. Both Olympus and Pentax offer the most camera for your buck, but that's countered with the fact that you may have issues finding professional lenses to go with your camera if you ever decide to get into more specialized niches. One thing I do have to say for the Pentax K10D and K20D is that both have excellent weather sealing against dust and water, which sounds like that could be useful in your travels to distant lands. This weather sealing is available for other cameras, but the Canon and Nikon equivalents will cost more than your budget for just the camera. A great website that I always use for reviews on camera bodies is www.dpreview.com

River cruising has become a very popular form of recreation today. Whether it is just for a few hours, or a few days or even a month, a river cruise can be a very exciting as well as relaxing vacation.

River cruises are of many kinds, depending upon the style, the size of the ship, the number of travelers, the various options, the price and the duration. The most common distinctions are the luxury cruises, budget cruises, expedition cruises, niche cruises, sailing cruise lines, wilderness cruises, adventure cruises, small cruises, romantic cruises, single cruises and so on.

There are many river cruising options in the United States. The most popular one is the Mississippi River cruise. This river, which runs from Minnesota to Louisiana, is the fifth longest in the world. Mississippi River cruising can be in an old fashioned steamboat that reminds you of Mark Twain, or it can be in a luxury cruise ship that offers state-of-the-art indulgence.

There can be several activities in the Mississippi River cruise, including: swimming pools, spas, casinos, recreation centers, fitness centers and gymnasiums, gourmet dining, restaurants, bars, salons, game rooms, night clubs and others. They are ideal for all kinds of activities ranging from a romantic night to cocktail parties, singles' party, a pajama party, a business reception, or even a wedding!

Mississippi River cruises are also designed according to creative themes, like: Relaxation On The River, Spring Pilgrimage, Gardens Of The River, Legends Of The 50's, Riverventures, Veterans Reunion, Thanksgiving Holidays, Golfing On The River, World War Ii, Big Band, Great Steamboat Race, History Of Steamboating etc. The main source and destination points are: New Orleans, Memphis, Chattanooga, St. Louis, Galveston and Pittsburgh. The cruise can be either round-trip or from one location to another.

Mississippi River cruises come at various prices, depending on the kind of the cruise (luxury/economy), the duration of the cruise, the facilities provided and other discounts or packages offered. Discounts are generally off-season discounts or group discounts. Packages can be for families, very large groups, two-way bookings, hotel bookings or more. Prices range from $1,100 to $3,250.

Information about Mississippi River cruises can be obtained from travel agencies, offices of the cruise lines, and from advertisements. The Internet is a very good source of information as it contains the latest info about most river cruises, along with their options, prices and dates. These can be compared, chosen and even booked online.

What are the best cruise lines for honeymoons?

My fiance and I will be going on a cruise when we get married for our honeymoon and I would like to know what are a few good cruise lines for honeymooners? We are in our early 20's, would prefer no children, not too many older people(no offense), not too loud or way too much going on but still with many different activities and different types of shore excursions and locations to relax and enjoy the excitement. Also, not too expensive(less than $1000 for a balcony per person). Top notch staff service and GREAT FOOD. Haha it seems like I am thinking of a cruise that does not exist. :) We do not really care about the locations....just not a western Caribbean because my fiance does not want to go to Mexico. And we are coming from either Galveston, New Orleans, or any of the embarkation ports in Florida. We were thinking of Princess, Celebrity, RCL, Norwegian or possible Carnival...but we are not really sure. I know it is a lot but thanks in advance.

Rule of thumb:
The more the trip costs, the less likely you'll see many families with kids.

Consider Princess, Celebrity, & Costa first.
Personally, I love Carnival... they're cheaper and plenty of fun.
Carnival does have an "adult-only" Serenity area on most of their ships;
so, perhaps that'll work for you.

Cruises have really taken off in the last fifteen years or so, with all the major cruise lines adding new ships to their fleets. But what makes cruises so popular and why might you consider choosing one for a vacation? Well, let's take a look at what all they offer:

Cruises Feature Destinations All Over the World

When you think of cruises, you may think of the Caribbean or perhaps Alaska, the two most popular cruise destinations for U.S. travelers. (European travelers often cruise in the Mediterranean, which is another popular destination.)

While these destinations are exotic enough for many folks (hey, I'd be happy to cruise just about anywhere since the experience itself offers so much), they represent only a small portion of the areas you can find cruises to.

Have you ever dreamed of visiting Australia and New Zealand? What about Southeast Asia? Perhaps Antarctica? South America? The South Pacific? Eastern Canada and New England? Hawaii? Scandinavia? The British Isles? Eastern Siberia? The fjords of Greenland? Morocco?

Guess what? You can find cruises that visit all those destinations--and more!

The variety of cities and countries where ships stop is one reason cruise vacations are so popular. You can visit many, many ports in the world, and cruises let you see more than one (often many more) per trip. And perhaps the biggest perk is that you only have to unpack once.

Cruises Are for All Types of Travelers

In the early days, cruises tended to be most popular with the retired and the wealthy. While many of those folks still enjoy cruising today, there really are no stereotypes about your average cruiser any more.

There are cruises that are great for families with children, others that cater go couples, some with special events for singles or gay and lesbian passengers, some that are perfect for active adventurers, and some that are low-key and cater to those who just want to relax.

While demographics vary from ship to ship, there really are cruises for any kind of person who's looking to see the world and have a good time.

If you're not sure you want, try one of the mainstream lines. They are known for having a Vegas vibe, where there are entertainment options for just about everyone. If you prefer peace and relaxation to constant entertainment, choose a small ship or a luxury line.

Cruises are Affordable

Another big reason cruises have become so popular is they are an affordable vacation option. With all your main requirements (food, lodging, and the cruise itself) included in the ticket price, you won't have a heap of expenditures to worry about once you're on board.

It's true that "all inclusive" isn't quite as all inclusive as the cruise lines might lead you to believe (expect to pay for everything from massages to alternative dining to shore excursions to diet sodas and alcoholic beverages), the major expenses are included.

Just browse online at sites such as Travelocity to get an idea of just how affordable cruises can be. You can find one-week packages to the Caribbean or Mexican Riveria for $600-$800. To spend a week in Alaska, you can get in for $800 or less. Shorter cruises of three or four days, often wrapped around a long weekend, start around $300.

As you can see, cruises are popular vacation choices for many reasons. You can find ships visiting many, many parts of the world, there are cruises to appeal to just about all types of travelers, and lastly these floating vacations are affordable.

Dubai's luxury hotels really are beyond compare. But the trouble is that while usually the word luxury can separate the majority of accommodation in any given country fairly evenly, in Dubai top notch lodgings are so common that the term 'luxury' has been completely devalued. When it comes to luxury hotels in Dubai, you need a new category to separate the luxurious to those which are almost beyond words for their decadence.

Here's the five I would highlight for extra special treatment. Sure, they'll cost you, but for an extra special luxury holiday in Dubai they're worth their weight in gold.

One and Only Residence and Spa

You know you're in some brand of paradise when half the spacious rooms lead straight out onto the private beach, and that's just scratching the surface of what makes the One and Only Residence and Spa one of the finest luxury hotels in Dubai. The staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them, but the thing that sets this one apart is just how relaxing it all is - the hotel is like a sanctuary away from the troubles of the modern world. Whether your idea of paradise is a full body massage or basking in the sun on a private beach, the One and Only Residence and Spa provides you with almost everything you could want without needing to leave your hotel!

Palace of the Royal Mirage

Any hotel that evokes a sensation similar to being royalty must be luxurious in my book, and it's actually a tradition of the hotel to bang a gong for new visitors. The service is unbelievable, and the staff will try to make you feel comfortable as best they can, doing anything from giving you a choice of rooms, to bringing round fruit kebabs and cleaning your sunglasses by the poolside. The executive rooms are splendidly furnished, and have free access to the gold lounge, where you can gorge on a seemingly endless supply of fruit, soft drinks, cakes and sandwiches. You can visit the hotel and never need to leave the grounds, such is the level of service, the facilities and the activities available to the guests who choose this as the base for their luxury holiday in Dubai.

Al Murooj Rotana

The Al Murooj Rotana hotel stands out from the first moment you see it, and you know upon entering the spacious, glamorous lobby that you are in for something special for the duration of your stay. The hotel is immaculately clean, with room cleanings at least twice a day, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Although this hotel feels more suited to business types, the facilities are welcoming to all comers, and the more focussed business clientele means there is less competition to the world class swimming pool - the perfect place to cool off from the heat of Dubai on your luxury holiday.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel

As the name suggests, one of the biggest attractions of the luxury hotel in Dubai is the location. And the private beach is every bit as enticing as you'd expect from a hotel that names itself after it! Indeed, the theme of water and sands is extended to the shape of the hotel itself, which appears from the distance to mirror a giant breaking wave: this is one hotel that seems to hold the philosophy that if things can't be done amazingly, they should not be done at all. As is the norm for these luxury hotels in Dubai, service is outstanding, and the rooms are both comfortable, welcoming and an aesthetic delight. This is also one Dubai luxury hotel where children are not only welcomed, but seemingly encouraged by the unlimited free access to the neighbouring Wild Wadi Water Park - which opens exclusively to hotel residents an hour early.

Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab certainly is an unforgettable sight - towering above the Dubai coastline at a height of 321 metres, and with a unique look resembling a billowing sail you'd be forgiven for thinking that this was a way of covering up insufficiencies elsewhere. Yet amazingly, the service, style and 'feel' of the famous luxury hotel in Dubai is echoed throughout, and has been recognised as the 'best of the world' by both the Institutional Investor Magazine and the World Travel Awards. This is one of the friendliest, stunning and comfortable hotels in the world, let alone Dubai - if you can afford it, this is THE place to stay.

Frankly, any one of these luxury hotels in Dubai will offer an unforgettable experience, which puts many European 5 star hotels to shame in terms of service, aesthetics and old fashioned pampering. Spoil yourself this summer with a luxury holiday to Dubai beyond decadence!

Cruise companies are currently marketing their cruise activities gradually for the upcoming winter season, but it does not mean those plans are fixed. Several cruise companies have been noticed to make some few revisions to their winter cruise itineraries for 2011. Here are some of them:

* Celebrity Cruises announced that their fleets would depart from Baltimore for 2011. However recently, they dropped their Baltimore plans and announced their ships will now have Australian itineraries. Cruise lines are trying to adjust to demands of the market, thus the quick changes in plans.

* Celebrity Cruises plans on three new 12-night round trip journeys with emphasis on different ports of call. These new cruise itineraries will allegedly be offered for September and October 2011. Celebrity's Constellation will reportedly sail all three journeys. The trip will begin with an overnight stay in Istanbul then will go on to sailing for Bodrum, Ephesus and Marmaris in Turkey. Then it will also call on Athens, Chania Crete, Santorini and Mykonos in Greece.

* Furthermore, Constellation will also go on a 12-night voyage from Amsterdam to Istanbul on September 7, 2011. It will then go on a repositioning cruise on October 25 from Istanbul going to Barcelona on an 11-night voyage. If you would like more details on these cruises, just visit Celebrity's official website at Celebritycruises.com.

* Princess cruises will be presenting trips to Asia on 2011. Ocean Princess, in particular, will sail from Rome to Singapore on a 28-day cruise on October 25, 2011. The ship will stop over Sorrento, Kusadasi and Athens to pick up passengers after which, it will continue to the Suez Canal then proceed to El Sheikh, Dubai, Aqaba, Safaga, Mumbai, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur and Cochin.

* Brilliance of the Seas, a ship owned by Royal Caribbean will commence sailing to Dubai in January 2011. Extra winter season cruises are being studied and will set sail on November 2011 in United Arab Emirates.

* Royal Caribbean will also add two 12-night voyages beginning March 2011. The trip will start in Dubai then will proceed to Muscat, Oman, Goa, Cochin and Mumbai. It will also visit Mangalore Port in west India. Repositioning cruises are also featured from Barcelona to Dubai and vice versa on board Brilliance of the Seas.

* Carnival Magic will return in Europe summer of 2011. Carnival Magic is sister ship to Carnival's Dream. It will sail both nine-day and 12-day cruises out of Barcelona. Nine days will be allotted to visit ports of call such as Florence or Pisa, Monaco, Rome, Messina, Naples, Marseille and Palma de Mallorca. On one hand, 12-day cruises will touch ports in Rome, Livorno, Marseille, Messina, Naples, Dubrovnik and an overnight stay in lovely Venice.

* Norwegian Epic will also journey from Caribbean to Barcelona for summer next year. The trip will feature seven-day voyages with stopovers in Rome, Naples and Florence or Pisa.

At present, cruise activities for next year have already been set but it does not mean that all these plans will push through. It will still depend primarily on market demands.

Have you traveled on the Carnival Fascination, Sensation?

We are planning a cruise to the Bahamas for November. We have found mixed comments about the Carnival Fascination and Sensation cruises, so we're wondering if anyone has traveled on either one of them, even more so if you have done so with children. We have a four-year old.

Also, if you know much about any of the the Royal Caribbean International cruises, I would appreciate any comments.

THX!

Wife and I went on our first cruise for our honeymoon on the Sensation I believe. It was okay for the money, but from what I hear the Royal Caribbean line is far better. My experience was that while the decor was very dated and in bad need of some revamping, the staff was excellent, especially those down in the cabin areas. The on board entertainment was awful and not at all what is pictured in the commercials. Basically there was dumb stuff like fake game shows, bingo and the world's worst magician. The food was great in the dining room but the cafeteria areas were a little lacking and only some section were always open for snacking, and god help you if you wanted a calzone. You would literally have to stand there and wait while they thawed one and heated it. If you walked away to come back after they said it would take 15 minutes they would just stop making it for you.

As far as kids, they did seem to have a good setup for that. There were dedicated camp counselors types who had activities every day for the little ones and they had their own section of the ship where only they could go. A lot of the parents I talked with said the kids were never bored and they gave parents pagers so they could be reached at any time if the kids needed them.

So, I think if it's in the budget to go Royal Caribbean, from what I've been told it's worth it, but Carnival is okay too, just lower your expectations a bit.
